Voyager chosen as integrated library system for academic, special libraries

DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, Jan. 24, 2002: Endeavor Information Systems announced today the selection of the Voyager integrated library management system at academic and special libraries across North America.

"We continue to strengthen the Voyager system to be the preferred ILS for large and small academic and research libraries who want extensive search and retrieval capabilities, straightforward technical services practices and a complete system in one package," said Roland Dietz, Endeavor President and CEO. "Voyager is an ideal choice for libraries because it is designed with open architecture, which means easy integration with current library practices, and because Endeavor is a leader in integration of the key standards that are important to all libraries." - Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ replaces a DRA system with Voyager to serve 9,500 users with 350,000 volumes, 3,000 periodicals and over 100 e-journals. Rowan's Campbell Library also selected Endeavor's ENCompass and LinkFinderPlus systems.

William Patterson University, Wayne, NJ implements Voyager to replace the current DRA system. Also selecting ENCompass and LinkFinderPlus, the Cheng Library serves users with over 350,000 volumes and over 10,000 e-databases.

Central Oklahoma University, Edmond, OK replaces the NOTIS system with Voyager. One of the original NOTIS libraries, the Chambers Library serves 15,5000 students at the oldest institute for higher education in Oklahoma.

Belmont University, Nashville, TN serves 3,300 students with over 200,000 volumes. Voyager replaces a DRA system at the Bunch Library, which assists the researchers at the second largest Christian university in Tennessee.

Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Austin, TX replaces the Gaylord Galaxy system with Voyager. The Stitt Library holds over 160,000 volumes with excellent holdings in most theological subject areas.

Arizona State Museum, Tucson, AZ implements Voyager to automate the Library's non-circulating Southwest research resources. Previously not automated, the Library holds over 40,000 volumes, 1,500 periodicals and extensive vertical files.

Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville, Jamaica, selected Voyager; they were previously not automated. With a large collection of West Indian materials, the Hiram S. Walters Resource Centre holds over 9,000 volumes and provides access to 1,300 full text electronic journals.
