NISO Four Additional Publishers Adopt NISO’s KBART Guidelines. The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) is pleased to announce that four more publishers have recently started supplying metadata that conforms to the NISO recommended practice, KBART: Knowledge Bases And Related Tools (NISO RP-9-2014). A total of 62 publishers have now achieved KBAR compliance since the recommended practice was originally published in 2010. [Full Announcement].

Library of Congress. Library of Congress appoints new Chief of Research and Reference Services. The Library of Congress has appointed Dennis Clark as chief of Research and Reference Services. Clark brings more than 22 years' experience as an administrator and librarian to the Library, where he will lead public research services, onsite and online user engagement and the development of the majority of the 30 million items in the Library's General Collections. Virginia Tech University. Grant awarded to University Libraries to study curation of interdisciplinary data and collaborative research. University Libraries in collaboration with libraries at Indiana University and the University of Colorado Boulder have been awarded a 2-year, $378,046 Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant under the National Leadership Grants for Libraries program. Together these university libraries will address the challenge of curating data produced during interdisciplinary and highly collaborative research. [Full Announcement].

OCLC Anja Smit, Shirley Chiu-wing Wong take seats on OCLC Board of Trustees. Anja Smit, University Librarian at Utrecht University in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Shirley Chiu-wing Wong, University Librarian at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, took their seats on the OCLC Board of Trustees today during the board's regular November meeting. OhioLINK. Chancellor Gardner appoints Pawlowski as OhioLINK executive director. Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner has named Amy Pawlowski executive director of OhioLINK, Ohio's academic library consortium, effective immediately. Pawlowski joined OhioLINK in 2013 as deputy director for operations and e-licensing. She has served in an interim capacity since February. [Full Announcement].
