Springer Nature. Springer Nature announces gold open access options for Nature journals from January 2021. Springer Nature announced that German authors would be able to publish their primary research open access in Nature and the Nature research journals, thanks to a ground-breaking agreement with the Max Planck Digital Library. Whilst highly effective in transitioning articles to open access, transformative agreements like this can be complicated and take time to put in place. In recognition of this, Springer Nature today announces that authors seeking to publish OA in Nature and the Nature research journals will no longer have to wait. [Full Announcement].

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining chose Koha for its new library management system earlier this year with PTFS Europe providing implementation, on-going hosting and support services. ProQuest ProQuest integrates ebook data with Talis Aspire, simplifying reading list workflows. ProQuest has collaborated with Talis, a SAGE Publishing Company, to integrate ProQuest Ebook Central platform pricing and holdings data into Talis Aspire, a tool used by libraries to create and manage resource lists to support university curriculum. Using Talis Aspire, faculty can create reading lists for their courses and send these lists to the library for review and purchase. Now, when a requested book is available through the ProQuest Ebook Central platform, Talis Aspire will display prices, available access models and information on what the library already owns, avoiding duplication. OCLC Anja Smit, Shirley Chiu-wing Wong take seats on OCLC Board of Trustees. Anja Smit, University Librarian at Utrecht University in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Shirley Chiu-wing Wong, University Librarian at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, took their seats on the OCLC Board of Trustees today during the board's regular November meeting. Lyrasis LYRASIS and Columbia University Libraries announce Copyright Advisory Board Members. LYRASIS and Columbia University Libraries are pleased to announce the members of the Advisory Board for the newly formed Virtual Copyright Education Center. As previously announced, LYRASIS and Columbia University Libraries are joining forces to pilot the new program which will introduce a robust progressive curriculum designed to enable cultural heritage professionals to move beyond a basic understanding of copyright. Ex Libris Five top UK Universities join Ex Libris RapidILL Community to accelerate delivery of materials in remote learning environments. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that five prominent UK universities—Imperial College London, UCL, the University of Liverpool, the University of Manchester, and the University of St Andrews—have decided to join the growing RapidILL community in the United Kingdom, giving their library users quick and easy access to materials via the cloud-based Ex Libris RapidILL interlibrary loan system. After integrating the system into their library workflows, the universities will benefit from the delivery of requested resources within 24 hours, thus providing patrons with maximum resource accessibility. Yewno Yewno to supply Artificial Intelligence capabilities to Citi Global Data Insights and Citi Research. Yewno announced that it will be providing AI based information analysis capabilities to Citi. Using Yewno's patented knowledge graph, Citi will be able to extract signals from unstructured text, which is currently a challenging and time-consuming task. Citi will use Yewno's AI solutions in its Citi Global Data Insights unit, the data science team within Global Insights at Citigroup, and in its independent Citi Research unit. [Full Announcement].

PTFS Europe Cumbria County Council goes live with the Koha open source library management system, hosted and supported by PTFS Europe. Cumbria County Council selected Koha for its new library management system, replacing a previous SirsiDynix solution. PTFS Europe has provided a comprehensive range of implementation and support services and the Council is pleased to announce that the system is now live. The Council looks forward to delivering an improved service to its customers and the library service particularly values the capabilities and efficiencies offered by the new open source solution. Springer Nature. German institutions to benefit from first Transformative Agreement for Nature. Springer Nature and the Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) have agreed an approach that will deliver the first ever transformative agreement (TA) for Nature and Nature-branded journals. Building on the nationwide Projekt DEAL agreement concluded last January for Springer Nature journals, the commercial framework agreed with MPDL will now be offered to German institutions, in time for a January 2021 start. The transformative agreement, which will run for four years, enables authors affiliated with participating institutions to publish their research articles accepted for publication in Nature and Nature-branded research journals immediately open access at no cost to them. Participating institutions will also gain read access to the complete Nature portfolio, including Nature Review titles and all forthcoming Nature-branded journals. [Full Announcement].

Springer Nature. Springer Nature extends digital flexibility in its new eBook offers. Springer Nature is providing libraries and research institutions with a broader range of choice in how they purchase and access digital book content. Its new eBook solutions will provide librarians in academic and corporate institutions with a range of flexible options to meet individual needs and budgets. In a pioneering move, Springer Nature launched its eBook Collections in 2006, and the publisher is continuously expanding this portfolio. It is currently available for 21 academic disciplines in English language. Using this experience and expertise, Springer Nature has now launched a wider variety of purchasing options for eBooks across its well-established imprints, such as Springer, Palgrave and Apress.
