ProQuest integrates ebook data with Talis Aspire, simplifying reading list workflows. ProQuest has collaborated with Talis, a SAGE Publishing Company, to integrate ProQuest Ebook Central platform pricing and holdings data into Talis Aspire, a tool used by libraries to create and manage resource lists to support university curriculum. Using Talis Aspire, faculty can create reading lists for their courses and send these lists to the library for review and purchase. Now, when a requested book is available through the ProQuest Ebook Central platform, Talis Aspire will display prices, available access models and information on what the library already owns, avoiding duplication. Learning science company McGraw Hill has begun making its widely used digital textbooks available for sale and distribution to U.S. academic libraries through Ebook Central, the eBook platform from EdTech leader ProQuest, a leading partner to academic libraries in the U.S. and globally. Washington and Jefferson College goes live on FOLIO with ByWater Solutions support. ByWater Solution announced that the Washington & Jefferson College's Clark Family Library in Washington, Pennsylvania is now live on FOLIO. ByWater completed the transition of the library's 100,000 plus holdings from the SirsiDynix Symphony ILS this summer and is providing ongoing support services to the library. As part of their partnership with ByWater, EBSCO Information Services will be providing hosting services along with complimentary products to ensure a complete and well managed FOLIO instance. FOLIO beta partner The Five Colleges Consortium adopts FOLIO ERM on its way to implementing FOLIO. The Five Colleges Consortium, as part of its FOLIO beta partnership with EBSCO Information Services, has become the first consortium to implement FOLIO Electronic Resources Management. This is the first step in a full FOLIO implementation in 2021. Virginia Tech University. Virginia research libraries to host virtual forum in advance of Elsevier negotiations. Representatives from the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia Commonwealth University, George Mason University, Old Dominion University, William and Mary, and James Madison University will soon be in contract negotiations with Elsevier, the largest science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) scholarly publisher. University of Texas. UT System joins Texas Library Coalition to improve access to scientific journals. The University of Texas System has joined the Texas Library Coalition for United Action (TLCUA) to rethink how university libraries collectively can improve access to faculty research and to push for changes to the costly subscription models offered by publishers of academic journals. A total of 41 institutions in Texas have now joined the Coalition – including the 14 UT institutions – making it the largest and most diverse consortia of its kind and giving it significant negotiating power.
