Lyrasis LYRASIS and Columbia University Libraries announce Copyright Advisory Board Members. LYRASIS and Columbia University Libraries are pleased to announce the members of the Advisory Board for the newly formed Virtual Copyright Education Center. NISO. Cory Doctorow to Keynote at NISO Plus 2021!. The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) today announced that the well-known science fiction author, activist, and journalist, Cory Doctorow, will be a keynote at their next annual NISO Plus conference to be held virtually, February 22-25, 2021. Galecia Group. Announcing: Library Dial-A-Story Services from LibraryCall. LibraryCall is a new cloud telephone application developed by The Galecia Group for their library customers. LibraryCall allows librarians to easily set up telephone-based services for their patrons, such as Library Dial-A-Story services, community calendars, and resource hotlines that give callers up-to-the-minute information on local community services. Baker & Taylor, the world's largest distributor of physical and digital books and entertainment, announced it is once again a full-service vendor to academic libraries. A Follett company, Baker & Taylor will be serving academic libraries worldwide with the widest range of library products and services to institutions, as well as the most comprehensive range and deepest inventory of books, movies, and music for colleges and universities. OhioLINK. Chancellor Gardner appoints Pawlowski as OhioLINK executive director. Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner has named Amy Pawlowski executive director of OhioLINK, Ohio's academic library consortium, effective immediately. Pawlowski joined OhioLINK in 2013 as deputy director for operations and e-licensing. She has served in an interim capacity since February. [Full Announcement].

ByWater Solutions Swanton Public Library joins VOKAL with Koha support from ByWater Solutions. ByWater Solutions announced that VOKAL (Vermont Organization of Koha Automated Libraries) has added Swanton Public Library to its consortium. They will be using Koha for their ILS. [Full Announcement].

EBSCO Information Services Michigan State University begins transition to the FOLIO library services platform. Michigan State University will be transitioning to the FOLIO Library Services Platform (LSP) and plans to fully implement FOLIO in 2021. Michigan State will be utilizing EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) for EBSCO FOLIO implementation and hosting services and will also leverage EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and OpenAthens. EBSCO FOLIO Services consist of a highly-trained, experienced team to assist with efficient and well-planned implementations and seamless service support, as well as sophisticated technology and trained engineers for hosting. Gale Group. Gale Case Studies launches to help higher education instructors bring social justice issues to the forefront of course curriculum. Gale, a Cengage company, is helping college and university instructors develop and strengthen students' critical thinking skills around contemporary social justice issues using historical content. Gale Case Studies, a new online instructional tool launched by the company today, provides faculty with teaching resources to help students critically analyze culturally relevant social justice issues through the lens of primary sources on topics such as LGBTQ+, race, political extremism and public health concerns. This new resource promotes the student growth of transferable, 21st century skills through an interdisciplinary approach that fosters the use of primary sources to interrogate social issues and develop inferences for the future. Yewno Yewno to supply Artificial Intelligence capabilities to Citi Global Data Insights and Citi Research. Yewno announced that it will be providing AI based information analysis capabilities to Citi. Using Yewno's patented knowledge graph, Citi will be able to extract signals from unstructured text, which is currently a challenging and time-consuming task. Citi will use Yewno's AI solutions in its Citi Global Data Insights unit, the data science team within Global Insights at Citigroup, and in its independent Citi Research unit. [Full Announcement].

The Library Corporation Now Live on CARL.X: OWLSnet Consortia implemented new Iitegrated library system 100% virtually. The newest library system to implement TLC's CARL.X integrated library software is the Outagamie Waupaca Library System's shared automation network (OWLSnet). This library system, which went live on August 17, 2020, is a public library consortium consisting of 29 libraries with 49 locations that stretch across two library systems in northeast Wisconsin. Innovative Interfaces, Inc. New research on public library usage during pandemic. Innovative, a ProQuest company and leading global provider of library software, today announced the presentation of new research on how people in the U.S. are using their public libraries. The research report, titled “Centuries of Resilience: Public Libraries Still Crucial During COVID-19,” presents how people have used public libraries in 2019 and 2020. Ex Libris Five top UK Universities join Ex Libris RapidILL Community to accelerate delivery of materials in remote learning environments. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that five prominent UK universities—Imperial College London, UCL, the University of Liverpool, the University of Manchester, and the University of St Andrews—have decided to join the growing RapidILL community in the United Kingdom, giving their library users quick and easy access to materials via the cloud-based Ex Libris RapidILL interlibrary loan system.
