(UNSILO) UNSILO is pleased to announce the adoption of its Reviewer Finder API by PeerJ, the award-winning biological, medical and environmental sciences journal. The Reviewer Finder API, part of the UNSILO Evaluate suite, will support the task of matching manuscripts with reviewers, and will be integrated with PeerJ’s manuscript tracking and peer review suite.

(Bibliotheca) bibliotheca Chairman of the Shareholders Committee, Thomas Geitner announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Ray Hood as CEO of Bibliotheca Group, effective November 5th, 2019.

(Iowa State University) Oxford University Press announced its first Read & Publish deal with a US institution, having reached an agreement in principle with the Iowa State University Library. The parties hope to finalize the details of the agreement by the end of the year.

(OCLC) University College Birmingham has selected OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services (WMS) as their new library management system to enhance e-resource management and integrate with existing systems at the library.

(Follett) The deadline for PreK-12 districts and schools to submit their nominations for the 2020 Follett Challenge is noon CST Thursday, Dec. 12. The ninth annual contest formally launched in October with more ways to win a portion of $200,000 (USD) in Follett products and/or services that will be awarded.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to acquire Innovative, a leading provider of integrated library systems for public, academic, and specialty libraries. Innovative will become a business unit within Ex Libris. The Innovative products that customers have relied on for many years will continue to be supported and enhanced.

(The Library Corporation) The Library Corporation announced the release of Library.Solution version 5.5.2. The numerous features included in this iteration of Library•Solution builds upon TLC’s goal of creating the industry’s leading library management platform to provide users with operational efficiency.

(ProQuest) Public libraries who use Apollo, an integrated library system (ILS) from Biblionix that automates circulation management and collection management, now have a new way to improve the discovery experience for their patrons. The Syndetics Unbound catalog enrichment service, designed to transform a library’s catalog or discovery layer, will now be available to public libraries in combination with Apollo.

(Gale Group) Gale, a Cengage company, is helping the University of Johannesburg enrich the research experience of its faculty and students. The university has selected Gale Primary Sources, the world’s largest collection of rare and unique digital archives. Now faculty and students have access to 27 digital collections on topics such as: law, government, political science, history, slavery, labor issues and literature.

(ProQuest) The ProQuest One Academic database – the new multidisciplinary resource from ProQuest – has been named to Choice Magazine’s highly acclaimed Outstanding Academic Titles list for 2019.

(UNSILO) UNSILO is pleased to announce the adoption of its Technical Checks API by Kyorinsha, the Tokyo-based publishing services company that supports researchers and scholarly societies, managing over 150 academic journals. The Technical Checks API, part of the UNSILO Evaluate suite, does not replace human editors, but uses machine-learning tools to provide information in real time from scientific research manuscripts, which assist human decision-making, such as identifying funding statements and potential conflicts of interest.

Patricia Culkin, a founding partner and former lead developer for the CARL Corporation, and Calvin Whittington, a long tenured TLC employee who worked as the Director of Finance and Administration since 1987.

(ByWater Solutions) ByWater Solutions announced that they are providing support and hosting services for the Aspen Open Source Discovery system for Pueblo City-County Library District in Pueblo, Colorado. Aspen will be working in concert with Pueblo's already existing Koha ILS to provide patrons seamless access to all of the library's print, electronic, and enhanced content resources.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris, a ProQuest Company, brachte die Direktoren führender akademischer und wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken aus ganz Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz zusammen, um sich über Pläne in der Branche zu informieren, ins Gespräch zu kommen und sich zu vernetzen. Die Veranstaltung gab den Bibliotheksdirektoren die Gelegenheit, von verschiedenen Wissenschaftlern und akademischen Kollegen zu erfahren, wie sie ihre Arbeitsweise mit digitalen Lösungen transformieren. Außerdem zeigten sie, wie diese Lösungen strategische Verbesserungen bewirken, die für ihre Wachstumspläne von zentraler Bedeutung sind.
