(Polaris Library Systems) Polaris Library Systems announced that Scottsdale Public Library has selected Polaris as its new integrated library system. Scottsdale Public Library will join over 90 libraries in Arizona who have implemented Polaris software, including Phoenix Public Library and the Maricopa County Library District.

(Arizona State University) ASU Venture Catalyst, the startup unit of Arizona State University, along with the Scottsdale Public Library system, has announced a new initiative for helping inventors, problem-solvers, social enterprises, entrepreneurs, and small businesses. The new Alexandria Network is designed to provide support for the innovation economy within designated libraries, eventually creating a network of locations across the greater Phoenix area and then across the state of Arizona.

(Innovative Interfaces, Inc.) The Scottsdale Public Library recently debuted its online Papago Salado StoryTour Collection. The collection includes historical images and stories that connect the authentic history of the Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe regions in Arizona with specific buildings and places. Audio clips of first-person narrative stories provide short accounts about the people and events that shaped the community over time. Visitors to the Library's website have access to the collection through Content Pro, Innovative's digital collection management solution. Audio clips of the stories can also be accessed at the physical locations of the historical sites via a mobile device.

(3M Library Systems) 3M Library Systems announced several new customers from across the U.S. have selected 3M library solutions to meet the demands in their local communities. Libraries located in the Midwest, Eastern and Southwestern regions of the country found 3M offerings to suit the needs to better service their patrons, including the Scottsdale Public Library in Arizona, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Henry Buhl Library at Grove City College, and the Salem-South Lyon District Library.

Innovative announced that twelve libraries have "gone live" with Encore Release 3.0: Augsburg College (MN); Binghamton University [SUNY] (NY); Greene County Public Library (OH); London Public Library (Canada); University of Hong Kong; University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Westerville Public Library (OH); Yale Law School (CT); Michigan State University; Eastern Kentucky University; Scottsdale Public Library (AZ); and University of Western Ontario (Canada). Key enhancements include improved discovery features, Community Reviews and Patron Ratings, personalization features, as well as new option for the Encore "look and feel." In addition, Encore Discovery is now available for central catalogs of INN-Reach direct consortial borrowing systems.

(Innovative Interfaces, Inc.) Innovative announced the launch of its Encore discovery services platform at a dozen public and academic libraries around the world. In addition, the company announced that 70 libraries have selected the next-generation product. The deployment of Encore brings a full-featured discovery tool to users—uniting library collections, licensed-resource content, and the discovery process. To date, Encore has been selected by more libraries combined than any other next-generation library interface to both print and e-resources. Libraries are using Encore as a discovery platform compatible with leading ILS systems including Innovative's Millennium, Ex Libris Voyager, and Ex Libris Aleph, as well as deploying Encore with Innovative's federated search product, Research Pro, and other leading federated search tools.

The Encore discovery services platform transforms the user experience of the library with expanded search functionality, community features, and a rich presentation that includes federated-search results and contextual resource suggestions. Encore is scheduled for release in mid-2007.
