(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the company is the first in the library industry to achieve ISO 22301:2012 certification. ISO 22301:2012 is the first international standard published by the International Organization for Standardization that focuses exclusively on business continuity management. This Ex Libris certification joins two others awarded to the company—ISO 27001:2013, certification for information security management systems; and ISO/IEC 27018:2014, certification for the protection of personally identifiable information in the cloud computing environment.

(Innovative Interfaces, Inc.) Innovative Interfaces announced it has achieved the International Organization for Standardization certification for information security management systems. ISO 27001 is the best known certification for ISMS standards and is internationally recognized as a top tier certification. The scope of Innovative’s certification covers the ISMS supporting the hosted and cloud infrastructure managed by Innovative’s Cloud Operations team. For Innovative, that means the company’s information security practices and hosted services have been certified.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the company has achieved certification for ISO/IEC 27018:2014, an international standard recently published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that provides a code of practice for the protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in cloud computing services. The ISO/IEC 27018 standard establishes commonly accepted control objectives, controls, and guidelines to ensure that PII data is adequately protected when processed by a cloud service provider, providing a common compliance framework for cloud service providers operating in multinational markets. This certification provides Ex Libris customers with confidence that Ex Libris protects personally identifiable information in the cloud to the very highest standards.

SirsiDynix is now one of the only vendors in the industry to become certified to this rigorous standard. Published by the International Organization for Standardization, the ISO 27001 standard is used by many governments worldwide to indicate that security is properly implemented throughout an organization. Compliance with ISO 27001 ensures that senior management is aware of security and involved with assessing risks, and that the organization continuously improves its information security management system.

(PTFS Europe) As part of a major enhancement of its library service, the Department of Health has chosen the Koha open source library management system to replace its existing Symphony solution. An ISO 27001 company, PTFS Europe carried out the initial implementation and is providing on-going hosting and support services.

(OCLC) OCLC has achieved ISO certification for information security management, recognition that provides several benefits including compliance with various privacy frameworks, improved security, clearer definition of security roles and standardized quality procedures. OCLC achieved ISO 27001:2005 certification from Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance. The ISO 27001 certification complements OCLC’s current ISO 9001:2008 Quality Certification. The certification confirms that OCLC is meeting a recognized international standard for security management. This standard recognizes OCLC’s capability to manage information security related to the provision of secure IT infrastructure and data center management.
