Patron Point Danville Public Library (IL) launches Patron Point.. ron Point announced today that Danville Public Library of Illinois has launched its patron relationship management system to support the Library's strategic marketing efforts. [Full Announcement].

Patron Point Patron Point receives Platinum Award in 2021 Modern Library Awards from LibraryWorks. Patron Point is delighted to announce it has received a Platinum award in LibraryWorks' seventh annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs.) The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format. Products and services were submitted in the Fall using a simple application, and then were posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. These products were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers with experience with these products/services in their facilities were permitted to judge the products/services, resulting in a truly unbiased score. [Full Announcement].

ByWater Solutions Sacramento County Public Law Library goes live on Koha with ByWater Support. ByWater Solutions, America's forefront provider of Open Source library technology support, announced that Sacramento County Public Law Library is now live on Koha. [Full Announcement].

PTFS Europe College of Optometrists chooses Koha open source library management system, hosted and supported by PTFS Europe. The College of Optometrists has chosen Koha as its new library management system to replace the previous IS Oxford Heritage solution. Ex Libris Putting its digital strategy into action, the University of Stirling chooses Ex Libris campusM Mobile App and Web Portal. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that Scotland's University of Stirling has selected the Ex Libris campusM mobile app and web portal as part of the university's digital strategy. Implemented at educational institutions around the world, the campusM platform provides university communities with easy, on-the-go access to personalized services and constantly changing information. ByWater Solutions Saint Vincent College goes live on FOLIO with ByWater Solutions Support. ByWater Solutions, America's forefront provider of Open Source library technology support, announced that Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania is now live on FOLIO. ByWater completed the transition of the library's 195,000 plus records from Millennium this winter and is providing ongoing support services to the library. As part of their partnership with ByWater, EBSCO Information Services will be providing hosting services along with complimentary products to ensure a complete and well managed FOLIO instance. Kanopy Pandemic leads to a significant increase in streaming video usage that is expected to continue, study shows. As more people stayed at home during 2020 due to the pandemic, they were streaming a lot more videos for reasons beyond just entertainment. This trend is expected to continue over the next three years, prompting many public libraries to transition their budgets from DVDs to streaming and prepare for changes and challenges. Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure. New open access platform for mathematics launched online. With its funding decision in 2019, the Joint Science Conference of the Federal Government and the Länder had paved the way for zbMATH Open. Now it is done: In an elaborate work process, the information service was transformed into an open access platform. This means that much of the data can be used freely for research purposes and for linking to other non-commercial services. [Full Announcement].

EBSCO Information Services EBSCO Information Services Launches EBSCOed. EBSCO Information Services announces the availability of EBSCOed powered by Stacks, a web-based content management system that makes it easy for schools to aggregate and streamline access to their digital resources in an interoperable, personalized experience. Developed in partnership with Publishers' Warehouse, the central source for textbooks in Alabama, EBSCOed serves as a single, easy-to-use online access point to approved educational resources across the state or within a school district's community. Overdrive Over 100 Public Libraries Exceed 1 Million Digital Book Checkouts in 2020. A record 102 public library systems from around the world empowered readers to borrow over 1 million ebooks and audiobooks from their digital collections in 2020. This represents the most systems ever to reach this milestone through OverDrive, the leading digital reading platform. Contributing factors include increased digital book usage due to the pandemic, elevated interest in social justice titles and BIPOC authors and strong circulation growth for children's and young adult titles because of remote learning. NISO Four Additional Publishers Adopt NISO’s KBART Guidelines. The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) is pleased to announce that four more publishers have recently started supplying metadata that conforms to the NISO recommended practice, KBART: Knowledge Bases And Related Tools (NISO RP-9-2014). A total of 62 publishers have now achieved KBAR compliance since the recommended practice was originally published in 2010. [Full Announcement].

Community College League of California. Community College League of California reaches agreement with ExLibris to sustain the Library Services Platform. The Community College League of California announced a new three-year agreement with ExLibris for the Library Services Platform (LSP), providing a smooth transition to sustain the effort this fiscal year. The LSP Program is a California Community Colleges systemwide project that recently implemented a shared library software solution for 110 participating colleges. Students can now utilize a single search for physical library materials, library database subscriptions, e-books and Open Educational Resource (OER) materials. [Full Announcement].
