(Springer) The HBCU Foundation, a Columbus, Ohio-based nonprofit whose aim is to provide scholarship aid to deserving students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities, announced on Monday, a $50,000 grant from the leading academic publishing company, Springer Nature, in support of HBCU scholarships.

(Project ReShare) Project ReShare and Stanford Libraries of Stanford University announce the launch of the Controlled Digital Lending Implementers group to explore and coordinate broad and thoughtful implementation of controlled digital lending.

(OCLC) OCLC is the highest ranked supplier on the latest APUC Framework Agreement for Library Management Systems. Following a competitive tender evaluation process, OCLC's WorldShare Management Services achieved the highest overall score. The APUC Framework looks closely at development, implementation and support, and the functional capabilities of systems so that APUC members do not have to go through a tender process.

(Evergreen Project) The first Evergreen International Online Conference drew over 350 registrants for the June 9 through 11 event. Always quick to adapt, the open source community of Evergreen users moved to an online conference as a late substitution for the in-person Evergreen International Conference that had been scheduled for April in Atlanta but was cancelled due to the pandemic.

(Andrew W. Mellon Foundation) The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation today announced a major strategic evolution for its organization, prioritizing social justice in all of its grantmaking. The Foundation's board has resoundingly endorsed a refined mission statement and updated program areas. While Mellon's strategic shift—under the leadership of Mellon President Elizabeth Alexander— has been two years in the making, current events make the Foundation's new social justice lens even more relevant to Mellon's philanthropic efforts supporting the arts and humanities.

(ChiliFresh) Coquitlam Public Library in cooperaMon with ChiliFresh Enterprises has enhanced their Polaris discovery platform with ChiliPAC, which provides readers with fully customized user profiles. With ChiliPAC integrated into the Library's online catalog, library staff and customers have the ability to read and write book reviews, star rate items, create and curate their own booklists and bookshelves and share those lists with friends and other library users globally. With booklists and bookshelves fully integrated into the catalog's search results, the catalog becomes an organic reader's advisory where Library staff and customers share reading recommendaMons within their community and on a global scale.

(Follett) Two not-for-profit organizations serving young students from low-income families have partnered with Follett and its online book fairs to keep kids reading to help counter the “summer slide,” which is expected to have greater impact this year when combined with the COVID-19 school closures.

This arrangement offers libraries more options to acquire and manage their DDA program via their preferred workflow solution.

(Gale Group) Gale, a Cengage company, is helping public libraries analyze data more efficiently to better serve their patrons and communities. Gale Analytics has introduced new interactive dashboards that provide public libraries with valuable insights into their service areas. Now library staff can dynamically interact with data to better understand the lifestyles and behaviors of households in their communities to design and market customized library services and resources to fit their needs.

(Yewno) The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan today announces that they will be offering Yewno Discover, a powerful research tool powered by artificial intelligence, free of charge to all of Italy until the end of August through the Cattolica website in both Italian and English. The initiative is part of UCSC's ongoing commitment to sharing knowledge.

(OCLC) OCLC, the global library technology and research organization based in Dublin, Ohio, has been named among Insider Pro and Computerworld's 2020 Best Places to Work in IT. This is the 11th year OCLC has been selected as one of Computerworld's top workplaces for information technology (IT) professionals. The honor is part of the IT publication's annual Best Places to Work in IT survey. OCLC placed at number 16 on the 2020 list in the Small Organization Rankings.

(Clarivate Analytics) Clarivate released the 2020 update to its annual Web of Science Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The annual JCR release enables the research community to evaluate the world's high-quality academic journals using a range of indicators, descriptive data and visualizations. The reports are used by academic publishers across the globe to evaluate the impact of their journals relative to their field and promote them to the research community.
