Gale Group Thorndike Press partners with Beanstack and Mark Cuban to sponsor Level Up national K-12 summer 2021 reading challenge. Thorndike Press from Gale, a Cengage company, has teamed up with Beanstack and Mark Cuban to bring schools a national K-12 summer reading challenge, ‘Level Up.' The challenge was designed to lessen the impact of summer slide and keep students engaged and reading all summer long. Schools can win cash prizes, book collections or a virtual visit from Newbery award-winning author, Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. The challenge is free, but schools must register to participate. EBSCO Information Services Caltech Library Will Adopt the FOLIO Library Services Platform for Fall 2021. After much research and deliberation, the Caltech Library is excited to announce we will adopt the FOLIO Library Services Platform (LSP) for use starting in the fall 2021 term. The open-source FOLIO platform will be hosted by EBSCO Information Services, the leading provider of discovery services, databases, and other information resources and services for libraries worldwide. EBSCO contributes substantially to the technical development of FOLIO software and offers FOLIO hosting and data management services. [Full Announcement].

Lyrasis LYRASIS and Columbia University Libraries announce new partnership to bring eBooks to academic library communities. LYRASIS and Columbia University Libraries announce a new partnership to bring SimplyE, an open source eBook management platform, to Columbia University Library users. This partnership will increase access to materials available from Columbia University Libraries with an improved and more consistent reading experience and will foster discoverability and use of eBooks for all students and faculty at Columbia and beyond. CLOCKSS. CLOCKSS names new Executive Director. CLOCKSS, the long-term digital preservation service for scholarly communications, announced that Alicia Wise will be its new Executive Director, taking over from Craig Van Dyck, who retires in May. [Full Announcement].

MOBIUS MOBIUS migrates Avery-Mitchell-Yancey Regional Library to NC Cardinal Consortium. MOBIUS announced that the Avery-Mitchell-Yancey (AMY) Regional Library successfully migrated and went live as a member of the NC Cardinal Consortium, which utilizes the Evergreen Integrated Library System (ILS), on February 18, 2021. Patron Point East Lansing Public Library (MI) joins the Patron Point community. Patron Point announced today that East Lansing Public Library of Michigan has selected its patron relationship management system to support the Library's strategic marketing efforts. [Full Announcement].

NISO Announcing NISO’s 2021 Awardees. The winners of the National Information Standards Organization's 2021 awards and scholarships were announced. The recipient of this year's prestigious Miles Conrad Award for lifetime achievement is Heather Joseph, Executive Director of the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition. This year's NISO Fellow is George Kerscher, CIO of the DAISY Consortium and Senior Advisor, Global Literacy, Benetech, for his invaluable work on information standards for accessibility and content distribution. The Ann Marie Cunningham Award honors NISO volunteers who routinely go above and beyond the normal call of duty to serve the organization. This year's recipients are Athena Hoeppner of the University of Central Florida, and Julie Zhu of the IEEE. [Full Announcement].
