BARATZ Las bibliotecas de 15 nuevos municipios se incorporan al catálogo único de la Comunidad de Madrid. La Red de Bibliotecas Públicas de la Comunidad de Madrid sigue creciendo y extendiendo el carné único en los municipios de la región. En una nueva fase de integración a AbsysNet, las bibliotecas de 15 municipios se han adherido al proyecto del catálogo único de la Comunidad de Madrid, siendo 80 los municipios que forman parte del catálogo regional y sumando ya 181 bibliotecas públicas, 85 bibliotecas escolares, 12 módulos de Bibliometro, 13 bibliobuses y la Biblioteca Regional de Madrid. Library Futures. Launch of new 501(c)3 Library Futures. Library Futures Institute, a new 501(c)(3) that will empower libraries to take control of their digital futures and fight for the right to equitable access to knowledge, launched this week with a social media campaign celebrating a technology-positive vision for libraries. ProQuest France’s Le Monde Newspaper Archive will be available to academic and public Libraries through ProQuest. Researchers will soon have a new and invaluable resource for exploring the history and culture of France from 1944 to 2000. The historical archive of Le Monde – considered one of the newspapers of record for France and one of the best-known and most influential publications in the world – will be available in full-page digital image format to academic and public libraries through ProQuest in March 2021. Yewno Ca’ Foscari University Library to offer AI-Based research tool to students and researchers. ByWater Solutions Washington State Law Library goes live on Koha with ByWater support. ByWater Solutions, America's forefront provider of Open Source library technology support, announced that Washington State Law Library is now live on Koha. ByWater completed the transition of the libraries 51,000 plus bibs from Sierra and is providing ongoing support services for Koha. [Full Announcement].

Overdrive New choice report studies academic collection development, reveals shift to ebooks. As digital books become more essential in colleges and universities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, academic librarians are adopting the ebook format at a vastly accelerated rate. To better understand ebook collection development in academic libraries, Choice, a publishing unit of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), conducted a research study to shine a much-needed light on the ways academic libraries are responding to the increased demand for digital content. Highlights include data showing that ebooks are an established part of academic library collections, many academic librarians' overarching acquisition model favors ebooks over print and both libraries and patrons have fully integrated ebooks into their workflows and practices. EBSCO Information Services Spain's University of Zaragoza adopts the FOLIO library services platform. University of Zaragoza is the first library in Spain to choose FOLIO as its Library Services Platform with hosting services from EBSCO Information Services. The implementation project will be led by IBAI-SCANBIT Technology and Services who has partnered with EBSCO for library implementation in Spain and will be completed in the spring of 2021. EBSCO Information Services EBSCO Information Services announces submissions open for the 2021 EBSCO Solar Grant. Submissions are now open for the 2021 EBSCO Solar grant program from EBSCO Information Services. For the fifth year, EBSCO is accepting applications for grants that will fund solar installations at libraries around the world.
