PTFS Europe RNN Group chooses Koha open source library management system, hosted and supported by PTFS Europe. The RNN Group (Rotherham College, North Notts College, and Dearne Valley College) has chosen Koha as its new library management system, to replace the previous AutoLib Software Systems solution. PTFS Europe implemented the new system and will provide on-going hosting and support services. [Full Announcement].

ProQuest Syndetics Unbound Content Now Included in Patron Point Recommends. ProQuest has reached an agreement with Patron Point to include Syndetics Unbound elements in their newsletter service. Recommends, is a reading recommendation service that helps libraries market content to their patrons and increase engagement and usage of their collection. [Full Announcement].

Kanopy Kanopy adds 60 new, exclusive films from the Criterion Collection. Kanopy, a company committed to providing access to high-quality films that inspire, educate and entertain, is working with long time content partner, Criterion to open streaming access to nearly 60 more films from The Criterion Collection to participating academic institutions across the globe. The Criterion Collection is home to some of the most important classic and contemporary films ever made, supplementing courses across film studies, race and gender studies, social sciences and more. This partnership increases the Criterion Collection total to over 500 films available for academic institutions to stream exclusively on Kanopy. [Full Announcement].

Gale Group It Isn't Enough to Not Be Racist: ULC and Gale call on library executives to actively embrace anti-racism’s Leadership Imperative. The Urban Libraries Council has published a new Leadership Brief on Anti-Racist Executive Leadership for Public Libraries, sponsored by Gale, a Cengage company. This resource examines the deep roots and enduring harm of structural racism in public libraries and challenges library executives to take on a more active, intentional and accountable role in strengthening their libraries as anti-racist institutions. Springer Nature. Springer Nature launches new publication portal for dissertations. Researchers wishing to publish their dissertation or postdoctoral thesis with Springer Nature can now benefit from a new streamlined and author-friendly publication portal. BookSubMarine (Submitted book Manuscripts are in evaluation) supports authors of theses in STM (Science Technology Medicine) and HSS (Humanities Social Sciences) throughout the entire publication process. Prospective authors submit the required data to the portal, such as their manuscript and a review, and select the desired publication model (Open Access, Basic or Premium). The submission is carefully assessed by expert editors, and following successful evaluation authors receive their contract [Full Announcement].

PTFS Europe Ravensbourne University London are now live with their new Koha open source library management system. Ravensbourne University London selected the Koha library management system, hosted and supported by PTFS Europe, to replace an existing SirsiDynix Symphony solution, in August 2020. We are pleased to announce that the Koha system is now live and now supporting the university's library users. Koha was selected to provide improvements in managing the library's collections and deliver a better experience for the University's students. [Full Announcement].

New York Public Library. The New York Public Library and The New York Institute for the Humanities launch partnership. The New York Public Library and The New York Institute for the Humanities, two storied New York City institutions dedicated to scholarship, discourse, and access to knowledge, have announced a partnership beginning on June 1. The Library's Center for Research in the Humanities—located in the iconic 42nd Street library—will collaborate with NYIH on public programming, and the administrative offices of NYIH, formerly housed at New York University, will operate out of a Library office building at 445 Fifth Avenue. SirsiDynix Surrey County Council joins The Libraries Consortium. SirsiDynix announced that Surrey County Council is the latest member to join The Libraries Consortium (TLC), a rapidly expanding network of public library authorities in the UK, sharing technology, stock and expertise to increase impact at reduced cost. Talis Delft University of Technology becomes the first university in The Netherlands to adopt Talis Aspire.
