(ByWater Solutions) ByWater Solutions announced that VOKAL (Vermont Organization of Koha Automated Libraries) has added Swanton Public Library to its consortium. They will be using Koha for their ILS.

(EBSCO Information Services) Michigan State University will be transitioning to the FOLIO Library Services Platform (LSP) and plans to fully implement FOLIO in 2021. Michigan State will be utilizing EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) for EBSCO FOLIO implementation and hosting services and will also leverage EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) and OpenAthens. EBSCO FOLIO Services consist of a highly-trained, experienced team to assist with efficient and well-planned implementations and seamless service support, as well as sophisticated technology and trained engineers for hosting.

(Follett) Baker & Taylor, the world's largest distributor of physical and digital books and entertainment, announced it is once again a full-service vendor to academic libraries. A Follett company, Baker & Taylor will be serving academic libraries worldwide with the widest range of library products and services to institutions, as well as the most comprehensive range and deepest inventory of books, movies, and music for colleges and universities.

(OhioLINK) Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor Randy Gardner has named Amy Pawlowski executive director of OhioLINK, Ohio's academic library consortium, effective immediately. Pawlowski joined OhioLINK in 2013 as deputy director for operations and e-licensing. She has served in an interim capacity since February.

(Gale Group) Gale, a Cengage company, is helping college and university instructors develop and strengthen students' critical thinking skills around contemporary social justice issues using historical content. Gale Case Studies, a new online instructional tool launched by the company today, provides faculty with teaching resources to help students critically analyze culturally relevant social justice issues through the lens of primary sources on topics such as LGBTQ+, race, political extremism and public health concerns. This new resource promotes the student growth of transferable, 21st century skills through an interdisciplinary approach that fosters the use of primary sources to interrogate social issues and develop inferences for the future. (Cambridge University Press) Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment publish and create world-leading content and examinations that are used across more than 170 countries. The move is in response to a growing desire from learners, teachers and researchers to engage with Cambridge in a joined up digital way, and the demand for innovative products that combine expertise in learning and assessment. The need for an integrated approach has been accelerated by the rapid uptake of digital education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new organisation will have the capabilities to provide world leading assessment, learning and academic research offerings globally, under the Cambridge brand and backed by first class teaching and research departments.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that five prominent UK universities—Imperial College London, UCL, the University of Liverpool, the University of Manchester, and the University of St Andrews—have decided to join the growing RapidILL community in the United Kingdom, giving their library users quick and easy access to materials via the cloud-based Ex Libris RapidILL interlibrary loan system. After integrating the system into their library workflows, the universities will benefit from the delivery of requested resources within 24 hours, thus providing patrons with maximum resource accessibility.

(Yewno) Yewno announced that it will be providing AI based information analysis capabilities to Citi. Using Yewno's patented knowledge graph, Citi will be able to extract signals from unstructured text, which is currently a challenging and time-consuming task. Citi will use Yewno's AI solutions in its Citi Global Data Insights unit, the data science team within Global Insights at Citigroup, and in its independent Citi Research unit.

(The Library Corporation) The newest library system to implement TLC's CARL.X integrated library software is the Outagamie Waupaca Library System's shared automation network (OWLSnet). This library system, which went live on August 17, 2020, is a public library consortium consisting of 29 libraries with 49 locations that stretch across two library systems in northeast Wisconsin.

(Innovative Interfaces, Inc.) Innovative, a ProQuest company and leading global provider of library software, today announced the presentation of new research on how people in the U.S. are using their public libraries. The research report, titled “Centuries of Resilience: Public Libraries Still Crucial During COVID-19,” presents how people have used public libraries in 2019 and 2020. The data includes how usage changed after most libraries closed their doors in March of this year and have since been slowly reopening.

(ProQuest) EdTech leader ProQuest announced the launch of the Black Freedom Struggle website – a curated selection of primary sources for teaching and learning about the struggles and triumphs of Black Americans. Developed with input from Black history scholars and advisors, this resource is freely available on the web and to libraries for anyone studying U.S. Black history.

(OCLC) OCLC is supporting libraries, researchers, educators and students with high-quality open access content that is discoverable and freely accessible through WorldCat Discovery and WorldCat.org.

(Turnitin) Turnitin announced the acquisition of ExamSoft, a scalable assessment platform that helps institutions and certification and licensure programs protect exam integrity and streamline the process of assessment. In coming together, Turnitin and ExamSoft become a single destination for upholding integrity throughout a student's entire educational journey, from book reports and problem sets to doctoral theses and professional licensure.
