(University of Wisconsin) Using library resources throughout the University of Wisconsin System is about to get easier. After nearly two years of intensive work, libraries around the system will migrate to a unified library services platform in January.

(Ex Libris) Ex Libris announced that the University of Wisconsin System libraries have selected the Ex Libris Alma library management solution to complement their Primo discovery and delivery solution. The consortium’s 26 institutions, which include the University of Wisconsin-Madison—a member of the Association of Research Libraries and the Committee on Institutional Cooperation—will enjoy unified management of all collections across the consortium while providing users with a unified discovery platform.

(LibLime) Students at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater will begin utilizing LibLime Koha this summer in their Organization of Information course through LibLime's Koha with Class program. LibLime will provide the three section class, of approximately 60 students, with a hosted installation of LibLime Koha, free of charge. This will allow the students unlimited access and all privileges associated with the staff end of LibLime Koha as well as all OPAC functionality for the duration of the course.

(Convey Systems) Convey Systems has installed an interactive librarian feature, AskWendt Live, for the University of Wisconsin''s Kurt F. Wendt Library. Using Convey System''s web-based, interactive voice, text chat and application share technology, UW-Madison students and faculty members are now able to engage in librarian-assisted research activities, without ever entering the building.

September 18, 1998

(Endeavor Information Systems, Inc.) The University of Wisconsin signs a letter of intent with Endeavor Information Services to implement Voyager to replace their current NOTIS system for their 26 campus libraries.
