Sabinet. Paving the way for South African university libraries. Sabinet successfully rolled out the OCLC WorldShare Management Services to the University of Pretoria – the second academic university in Africa to adopt this system. WMS is a complete, cloud-based library management system that offers all the applications needed to manage a library: acquisitions, circulation, metadata, resource sharing, licence management, reports and a single-search discovery interface for end users. WMS's discovery interface, WorldCat Discovery, enables UP's university community to search the library's entire collection, as well as materials held by libraries worldwide, with a single search. Sabinet. The University of Pretoria chooses WorldShare Management System for their library. After closely evaluating the different options available in South Africa and globally, University of Pretoria made the decision to award a tender to Sabinet for OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services in their libraries. The library of the University of Pretoria is regarded as one of the best university libraries in South Africa. It provides a comprehensive information service for the university’s approximately 39 000 undergraduate students, 25 000 postgraduates and 4 000 full time staff members. [Full Announcement].

OCLC OCLC’s WorldCat Local to transform resource discovery and delivery in South African libraries. OCLC and Sabinet, OCLC’s partner in South Africa, have signed an agreement to provide WorldCat Local, OCLC’s discovery service, as a single point of access and delivery of electronic, print and digital resources to the National Library of South Africa and 15 academic institutions, offering a simplified discovery and delivery experience to end-users.
