The Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI), which provides library automation services to 23 institutions, is the first academic group to select OCLC WorldShare Management Services as its cloud-based library management system. One Thousand bX Customers: A Tribute to the Value of the Scholarly Recommender Service. Ex Libris announced that following the selection of the bX article recommender service by the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana, the number of institutions using bX now exceeds 1000. bX was developed as a collaborative effort between Ex Libris and the preeminent Los Alamos National Laboratory researchers Johan Bollen and Herbert Van de Sompel—the creator of the SFX OpenURL link resolver. Focused solely on the scholarly domain, bX is the first service to provide recommendations that are generated from researchers’ usage data. The article recommendations are based on an analysis of hundreds of millions of usage logs contributed by worldwide SFX customers who are bX subscribers. [Full Announcement].

Ex announced that a contract was signed with PALNI to replace their current DRA Classic system with ALEPH 500. ALEPH 500 will support core functions and services.
