Dartmouth College Library marks a worldwide milestone with the launch of an open beta of the Summon™ web-scale discovery service, a groundbreaking, Google-like search of the full breadth of content found in library collections. In addition to librarians, the Summon™ service is now being used by students and faculty at Dartmouth College, enabling them to search the contents of the library – physical and digital – from a single search box. Innovative Interfaces, Inc. ARL Libraries Get eResource Usage Stats Faster and Easier with Innovative ERM. Innovative Interfaces announced that members of the prestigious Association of Research Libraries (ARL) have achieved real-time acquisition of user statistics from within Innovative's ERM. Using the Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative (SUSHI) model, staff can now access the high-volume of information from hundreds of e-resources—enabling cost-per-use analysis and eliminating time-consuming staff chores. This SUSHI advance extends Innovative's leadership in supporting the ARL members. The first to implement SUSHI with the Innovative ERM are Cornell University, Dartmouth College, University of Arizona, Washington State University, Wayne State University, and University of Washington. Innovative announced the completion of 150 installations of Electronic Resource Management at academic, public, and special libraries worldwide. epixtech, inc.. Four new ARL Libraries join Borrow Direct Partnership Using URSA from epixtech. This fall, students and faculty at Brown University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, and Princeton University will be able to initiate their own interlibrary loans with expanded access to seven Academic Research library collections. Thanks to epixtech''s Universal Resource Sharing System, these libraries have joined with Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University as part of the Borrow Direct partnership established in 1999. Borrow Direct now consists of seven ARL libraries serving thousands of students, faculty, and staff at these institutions. [Full Announcement].
