(TIND) CERN spin-off TIND Technologies was selected by the California Institute of Technology to provide their cloud-based library management system based on CERN open source technology. The solution will be integrated with EBSCO’s Discovery Service.

(OCLC) Since OCLC announced it was making its cloud-based library management services available to early adopters just 10 months ago, 32 libraries have committed to using OCLC Web-scale Management Services, the Web-based cooperative library management tools for metadata management, acquisitions, circulation, license management and workflow improvement. The early-adopter phase has now ended, and July 1 will mark general release of these innovative cloud-based services.

SFX is a unique and revolutionary tool for navigation and discovery, delivering powerful linking services in the scholarly information environment. With SFX, these libraries can define rules that allow SFX to dynamically create links that fully integrate their information resources regardless of who hosts them – the library itself or external information providers. The user is presented with context-sensitive links that are dynamically configured on the basis of the institution''s e-collections.

(Ex Libris) SFX, the context-sensitive reference linking solution, originating in research work by Herbert Van de Sompel at Ghent University in Belgium, and now owned by Ex Libris, enters a new phase as beta testing gets underway in some key US libraries. SFX Beta Test sites include: Los Alamos National Laboratory; Harvard University Library; California Institute of Technology; Vanderbilt University; and Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
