(Zepheira) Zepheira announces a partnership with the Library of Michigan and Midwest Collaborative for Library Services to transform the Michigan eLibrary catalog’s bibliographic data into Linked Data for broader incorporation into the Web. Michigan is the first State library to bring a large scale set of library catalog data to the Web with Linked Data technologies developed by Zepheira, namely the Library.Link Network.

(Zepheira) Qatar National Library has signed with Zepheira to transform its collection catalog into linked data format and share it broadly on the Web. QNL is the first library in the Middle East and North Africa region to bring its collections to the Web with Linked Data technologies developed by Zepheira.

(Zepheira) Zepheira announced having transformed and published the catalog of Barrington Area Library, in Barrington, Illinois. Barrington Area Library is the first in Illinois to work with Zepheira to convert its MARC Catalog to Linked Data, and publish those resources to the Web. Barrington is the largest geographic library district in the state of Illinois, covering 72 square miles. Many potential library users live at quite a distance from either the main library or branch, and taking full advantage of all available technologies is key to reaching potential patrons while also supporting existing customers. The library’s collections include thousands of downloadable e-books and audiobooks, as well as streaming movies – library materials customers can borrow without needing to visit in person.

(Zepheira) Zepheira has signed Boston University to its Early Adopter for Academic Libraries Linked Data service. BU is now working with Zepheira to convert its MARC catalog of over 3,000,000 records into Linked Data and publish it to the Web to increase the visibility of the library’s resources.

(Zepheira) Following the success of its Early Adopter program with 12 participating public libraries in the US and Canada, Zepheira is pleased to announce the first four participants in its Experimenter Program. This program builds awareness of the power of Linked Data through education and training, provides an assessment of the institution’s MARC data, and develops a pilot to experiment with publishing Linked Data to the Web. Upon discovery of library materials, users are automatically redirected to the Library’s PAC or Discovery Layer for further action.

These 12 institutions have completed training in the details of BIBFRAME, Linked Data, and a host of concrete steps libraries can take to establish greater visibility on the Web.

(Zepheira) Zepheira, the industry leader in the creation of linked data vocabularies for addressing the Web visibility of library and memory organizations, is launching a new Linked Data Readiness Assessment (RA) Product. RA allows libraries and memory organizations to determine the state of their current collections, systems, and staffing to determine what should be done to make them more visible to their communities – patrons or customers of the library who access information via Web search engines or students and faculty who access information via internal environments such as on-campus systems.

(Zepheira) The National Library of Medicine has selected Zepheira to provide combined expertise and in Library Linked Data and Health Care Informatics in a project to advance the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) Linked Data Architecture. Zepheira will support effective publishing of the MeSH vocabulary on the web. NLM awarded Zepheira the contract through a competitive bidding process.
