They aim to improve students' experience of accessing online resources with reading lists in Talis Aspire. The library will also benefit from streamlined workflows to enhance the resourcing and acquisitions processes.

(Sage) SAGE Publishing announces an open access pilot program with the University Libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Beginning in 2020, the program will grant UNC-Chapel Hill access to SAGE Journals and provide funding to cover article publishing fees for University researchers to make their SAGE research articles fully open access.

(SAGE) SAGE Publishing has acquired technology start-up Lean Library and its associated products to promote the value of the academic library to patrons and bring library services directly into the patron’s workflow via their web browser. The Lean Library browser extension provides seamless, one-click access to all licensed library resources, both on and off campus, and offers up legal routes to discover open access full text. At the same time, the service enables libraries to promote their services exactly when and where they are needed by delivering targeted, customisable messages directly into users’ workflows.

(SAGE) SAGE Publishing today launched its first preprints server for the humanities and social sciences, in partnership with Figshare. Advance: a SAGE preprints community will provide academic researchers with a global platform to share early versions of their work ahead of formal peer review and publication. The open access platform will support original research and reviews, making content open to receiving feedback from colleagues and peers. The service enables researchers to disseminate and start communicating about their time-sensitive work and ideas faster and to garner engagement and feedback throughout their research process. All preprints published on Advance are eligible for publication in a wide range of SAGE’s portfolio of peer-reviewed journals.

(Sage) SAGE released a collection of more than 4,000 statistical data series for students and researchers working on business plan projects and market research assignments. Titled SAGE Business Stats, it offers historic, current, and projected demographic and industry data points down to the zip-code level. SAGE Business Stats is the second in SAGE’s suite of resources that support business curricula and research and the third collection of data on the SAGE Stats platform.

(SAGE) SAGE announced the purchase of Pion Limited, independent publisher of high quality academic journals founded by Adam Gelbtuch and John Ashby in 1959. The sale was announced jointly by Chairman for Pion, David Cohen and Stephen Barr, President SAGE International.
