Zepheira’s mission is to connect libraries, archives and museums to make the world a smarter place. Zepheira uncovers previously hidden data and insights for patrons and facilitates connections between library systems and the open web. This acquisition reinforces EBSCO’s commitment to making information available when, where and how users need it.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services is soliciting grant applications to give libraries the opportunity to “go green” by funding solar installations through the 2020 EBSCO Solar grant program. As part of the EBSCO Solar initiative, EBSCO will be making three $100,000 grants available to applicants from libraries around the world. The grants will allow winning libraries to reduce their utilities expenses by installing a solar array at their institution. After seeing the benefits on its own campus, EBSCO introduced the EBSCO Solar grant program so libraries interested in adding their own solar arrays can do so. Since 2016, EBSCO Solar has given libraries nearly a million dollars in grant money.
(EBSCO Information Services) The American Library Association is now accepting submissions for the 2020 John Cotton Dana Award (JCD). The John Cotton Dana Award is one of the most prestigious awards given to libraries and honors outstanding library public relations. Eight $10,000 awards will be provided by the H.W. Wilson Foundation in 2020. The awards are managed by the Library Leadership and Management Association division of ALA, and judges are associated with this division. The 2020 John Cotton Dana Awards will be presented to winners at the 2020 ALA Annual awards ceremony sponsored by ALA and EBSCO Information Services.

(EBSCO Information Services) EBSCO Information Services releases Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI), a bibliographic database providing complete citations to the contents of scholarly journals related to Latin America and the Caribbean published around the world since the late 1960s. Hispanic American Periodicals Index, produced by the Latin American Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, is now available for annual subscription through EBSCO.

The scholarships are co-sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA). The scholarship recipients will be honored by EBSCO and ALA representatives at a breakfast during the conference.
