ADLIB Information Systems Adlib Information Systems is now part of the Axiell group. The Dutch vendor and producer of software for libraries, museums and archives is as of the 1st of March 2013 part of the Swedish Axiell AB. This combination now forms the largest supplier of software for these markets in Europe. [Full Announcement].

ADLIB Information Systems Extensis Announces Strategic Partnership with Adlib Information Systems; Brings Digital Asset Management Together with Collection Management Systems. Extensis announced a strategic partnership with Adlib Information Systems, one of the world’s leading suppliers of Collection Management Systems for cultural heritage institutions. With over 1600 installations globally, their customers include the Van Gogh Museum, the National Gallery (London), The Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge) and The Imperial War Museum (London). ADLIB Information Systems Adlib Movement 2. The Adlib Movement module has been around for some time now and is used by a number of museums to record the packing and movement of objects online. The application works with a handheld device (Personal Digital Assistant or PDA) and processes all tasks by scanning barcodes or RFID tags. All transactions are stored directly in the Adlib database via a wireless network connection. The module negates the need to register objects manually, saving valuable time. [Full Announcement].

From media archives to libraries and museums, each sector in which Adlib operates has its own standards: the archives have ISAD and EAD, the libraries MARC and FRBR, and museums use Spectrum, CDWA (Lite), LIDO and ObjectID. ADLIB Information Systems Adlib SQL now available for all users. After more than twenty years of use, our Adlib database has reached the end of its service. From now on, all new Adlib versions will be shipped with either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle as the database management system. Although Adlib has been available for several years now in combination with the products of both major database manufacturers, Adlib's own proprietary database system - also known as 'CBF' database - continued to operate alongside it. Furthermore, the versions for SQL/Oracle had a higher price tag than their CBF counterpart. [Full Announcement].

ADLIB Information Systems Sailing into the Future with ADLIB. ADLIB, through their UK sister company ADLIB Information Systems Ltd. of Swindon, will take over the existing SAILS product. This includes responsibility for support and maintenance of the current SAILS customer base of around 50. As part of the agreement the existing SAILS technical personnel will transfer to ADLIB Information Systems Ltd. where they will provide continuity of support for existing customers.
