ByWater Solutions announces support of Aspen Discovery for the Milwaukee County Federated Library System. ByWater Solutions announced that they are providing support and hosting services for the Aspen Open Source Discovery system for the Milwaukee County Federated Library System in Wisconsin. La BNE cambia su sistema de gestión bibliotecaria. The National Library of Spain will be migrating to Ex Libris Alma from SirsiDynix Symphony. En las próximas semanas la BNE sustituirá su actual sistema de gestión bibliotecaria, que es la herramienta que sustenta el catálogo en línea, así como la mayor parte de los procesos bibliotecarios: préstamo, catalogación, adquisiciones, gestión de publicaciones seriadas, etc. La Biblioteca ya ha afrontado con anterioridad diferentes procesos de migración de sistemas bibliotecarios, desde Sabini y Ariadna, a finales de los años 80 del siglo pasado, hasta llegar a Unicorn en 2007 y posteriormente Symphony en 2017, sistema al que ahora sustituye Alma. La Red de Bibliotecas de Canarias ha dado un salto cualitativo en su infraestructura tecnológica al trasladar su catálogo colectivo a la nube de Baratz. Este avance le permite disponer una mayor independencia tecnológica, además de ahorrar tiempo y recursos al liberarse de las tareas de mantenimiento y gestión de la infraestructura. Pero este cambio estratégico no solo optimiza sus operaciones, sino que también refuerza la eficiencia, la seguridad y la capacidad de adaptación digital de la red de bibliotecas.
