Surpass Software announces special pricing for small libraries on Library Automation software bundle. Surpass Software is bundling Surpass Central with Surpass Safari and offering them at a reduced price to libraries with 5,000 or fewer volumes. The bundle will sell for just $995, so a small library can now have a fully automated system with both circulation and catalog for under $1,000. This represents significant savings over the regular $1,750 cost of these programs. The programs are only limited in the size of the collection they will handle and are otherwise fully functional. Sirsi Corporation. SIRSI introduces new system for small libraries that includes free server. Sirsi Corporation announced the launch of a new integrated library system packaged specifically for small libraries. The turnkey system, called Unicorn QuikStart, includes a free Windows NT central server and special hotline, and provides the same full-function software that SIRSI installs at larger libraries.
