Innovative and leading knowledge solutions provider Naseej sign exclusive agreement to bring Innovative products to the Arab world. Innovative Interfaces and Naseej, the leading knowledge solutions provider in the Arab world, announced today that they have signed an exclusive agreement to bring Innovative's next-generation library technology systems to the region. Under the terms of the agreement, Naseej will distribute and support Innovative's complete suite of products throughout the region, including the Sierra library services platform, which has seen unprecedented adoption by libraries worldwide since its introduction in the 2012. OCLC and ProQuest work together to automate e-book collection management. A new collaboration between OCLC and ProQuest automates the process to keep e-book holdings from ebrary and EBL – Ebook Library up to date in WorldCat and library catalogs and offers current links to library users for easy access to those titles. The initiative builds on OCLC’s work with ProQuest’s e-book businesses to support Demand-driven Acquisition (DDA) workflow and e-book access. Libraries can now request that ebrary and EBL provide OCLC with holdings data for purchased collections and DDA repositories. The data will be loaded into the WorldCat knowledge base, which combines information about a library’s electronic resources with linking features that enable access to the content. E-book holdings and access will be automatically kept up to date for OCLC cataloging libraries, without the need for library staff to manually intervene. [Full Announcement].

Bibliotheca forms joint venture with MultiSystems to enter Brazilian market. Bibliotheca is extending operations into the emerging Brazilian library market. In a new joint venture with existing system integrator MultiSystems, Bibliotheca will form a new office to bring the class-leading products and services of Bibliotheca Group to the South American library market. EBSCO and EOS International partner to enhance library discovery. A new partnership between EBSCO and EOS International, a leader in cloud computing library automation software, brings more choice to libraries looking for a discovery solution. A joint development schedule will enable more tightly integrated access between EBSCO Discovery Service and EOS International's suite of ILS systems benefiting mutual customers and continuing EBSCO's partnership initiatives. Ex Libris selects Basis technology for Chinese analysis. Basis Technology, the global leader in multilingual text analytics, and Ex Libris announced that Ex Libris has licensed the Rosette linguistics platform from Basis Technology for integration into the Primo discovery and delivery solution. EBSCO Publishing and SirsiDynix sign partnership agreement to enhance discovery for mutual customers. A new agreement between EBSCO Publishing and SirsiDynix will provide mutual customers with easier access to the databases, e-journals and other e-content end users are looking for. EBSCO and SirsiDynix will work together to allow EBSCO Discovery Service to be seamlessly integrated into SirsiDynix’s eResource Central solution. EBSCO Publishing and Innovative Interfaces expand partnership with EBSCO Discovery Service and Encore. EBSCO Publishing and Innovative Interfaces have expanded their collaborative agreement. The companies have agreed to joint development that will enable more tightly integrated access between EBSCO Discovery Service Innovative’s Encore discovery platform in addition to facilitating access between EDS and Innovative’s Millennium ILS and Sierra Services Platform. Having access to EDS’s unified index will expand the quality and amount of content available for Encore users while adding the enhanced features and functionality available from EDS. OCLC and EBSCO develop partnership to offer interoperability of services for libraries and increased options for discovery. OCLC and EBSCO Publishing have signed an agreement to make EBSCO Discovery Service interoperable with the OCLC WorldShare Management Service, enabling libraries to use EDS as their discovery layer and WorldShare Management Services as their library management system. Additionally, the companies are investigating working toward an integrated solution allowing WorldCat Local users who also subscribe to EDS to search and retrieve results from EDS within the WorldCat Local Service.
