BARATZ Fallo VI Premio REBIUN. El pasado 19 de abril, presidida por Carlos Hermenegildo Caudevilla, Vicerrector de Investigación de la Universitat de València y Coordinador de REBIUN, se reunió en formato online la Comisión de Valoración del VI premio REBIUN de reconocimiento a las buenas prácticas en bibliotecas. Los miembros de la comisión han considerado que la candidatura merecedora del VI Premio REBIUN ha sido «BiblioPOP: bibliotecas comprometidas con la cultura popular» de la Biblioteca de L'ETNO, Museu Valencià d'Etnologia. Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Recent selections in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East extend Sierra's worldwide success. Innovative Interfaces announced that libraries in thirteen countries in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region have selected the Sierra Services Platform. Included in the group are collaborating institutions such as Bangor University (UK); Qatar Foundation Central Library (Qatar); South East Academic Libraries System (SEALS) (South Africa); Universidad de Málaga (Spain); Universidad de Navarra (Spain); Universidad de Sevilla (Spain); Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy); Universitat de les Illes Balears (Spain); University of Bedfordshire (UK); University of Glasgow (UK); University of Leeds (UK); and the Wellcome Library (UK). Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Second wave of early agreements for Sierra announced. SirsiDynix Corinthian Selected for Premier European Library Automation Project. SirsiDynix announced that a very large and prestigious consortium of libraries in Catalonia, Spain, has selected Corinthian to replace their existing library automation systems. The consortium comprises eight university libraries, two public library networks and the National Library of Catalonia. The consortium conducted an extensive and thorough evaluation of the systems available worldwide, commencing with strategic reviews over two years ago, and concluding with an unusually challenging selection and procurement process. VTLS, Inc.. VTLS wins union catalog project in Spain. Seven universities in the Catalonian region of Spain have signed a contract with VTLS to create a union database of their library holdings. The joint project, called the Catale Collectiu de les Universitats de Catalunya, is spearheaded by a team coordinated by Joan Majo, vice-rector of the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya. Sponsored by the department of universities of the autonomous government of Catalonia, the effort is to get underway in the first quarter of 1995. [Full Announcement].
