OCLC TU Delft Library is now live with OCLC WorldShare Management Services. Delft University of Technology, one of the world's leading technical universities, is now live using OCLC WorldShare Management Services as its library management system. The university library is the second in the Netherlands to go live with WMS, following Tilburg University. [Full Announcement].

OCLC Bishop Grosseteste University is first UK institution to go live with OCLC's WorldShare Management Services. Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln is the first institution in the UK to go live with OCLC’s WorldShare Management Services. Bishop Grosseteste University is now among the more than 100 libraries worldwide using OCLC’s cloud-based library management services that easily integrate with institutional systems to help libraries become more efficient with print and electronic workflows. OCLC OCLC Global Council meets in The Hague, Netherlands. OCLC Global Council meets 23–25 April in The Hague to discuss “Cooperation in a Rapidly Changing World.” The meeting of OCLC Global Council delegates is the first to take place in Europe. Delegates will hear from Vincent Lokin, Manager, Cooperative and Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Rabobank, Netherlands, who will give the keynote address on models for cooperation, and from Breandán Knowlton, Programme Manager, Europeana, on “Developing Projects in the Europeana Cultural Heritage Ecosystem.” [Full Announcement].

Sie ist damit die erste europäische Bibliothek, die diese cloudbasierten Bibliotheksservices in Betrieb genommen hat. OCLC Tilburg University moves library workflows to the cloud with OCLC. Tilburg University is now running OCLC WorldShare Management Services live, in production, making Tilburg the first European library to adopt the cloud-based library management solution. Tilburg, ranked among the top 500 universities in the world in 2012, is a public research university in the Netherlands with approximately 12,500 students. [Full Announcement].

OCLC Tilburg University implements OCLC WorldCat Local discovery service. Tilburg University, in the Netherlands, has gone live with WorldCat Local, OCLC's cloud-based discovery and delivery service that allows users to search their library's collection along with the collections of thousands of other libraries worldwide. With the launch of WorldCat Local, Tilburg University has chosen to focus first on the most user-critical service while taking a significant step toward migration of its entire library management workflow to the cloud with the adoption of OCLC WorldShare Management Services. OCLC University of New Brunswick Libraries first in Canada to sign up to use OCLC Web-scale Management Services. The University of New Brunswick Libraries is the first Canadian library to sign up to use OCLC Web-scale Management Services, the Web-based cooperative library management tools for metadata management, acquisitions, circulation, license management and workflow improvement. In 2008, UNB was among the first institutions outside the United States to sign up and implement WorldCat Local. [Full Announcement].

OCLC Tilburg University first European library to start with OCLC Web-scale Management Services. The Tilburg University Library, in Holland, has opted for OCLC’s Web-scale Management Services and WorldCat Local as its new library management solution and integrated discovery service. Infor Library and Information Solutions Public Library of Tilburg chooses Vubis Smart. Geac OBT (Public Library of Tilburg); in Midden-Brabant,Netherlands has chosen to use the Vubis Smart library automation system. They have been operational since Monday 28 November 2005. By using Vubis Smart their library management processes will become more efficient and stream-lined. The OBT is the largest cultural organization in the area and serves as a multi-media centre for knowledge and culture for around 286,000 inhabitants, and also performs the role of WSF-library within the region. Endeavor Information Systems, Inc.. Endeavor hosts E-Learning discussion forum to share experience, vision of the library's future in e-learning. Endeavor Information Systems announced the preliminary results of the Endeavor E-Learning Discussion Forum held earlier this month at the company’s Chicago-area headquarters. Gathering librarians and technical staff representing five institutions from four countries, the Endeavor E-Learning Forum was a discussion and debate of the library''s role in e-learning. OCLC PICA Libraries Test Z39.50 Interface to OCLC FirstSearch Databases. End users in six libraries in the Netherlands have begun an evaluation of a Z39.50 interface link to OCLC's FirstSearch service. The Z39.50 interface has been adapted by PICA (Project for Integrated Catalogue Automation), the Dutch Centre for Library Automation, in association with OCLC. [Full Announcement].
