Based on Skilltype data and a Librarian Survey, the new Technology from Sage report explores the current librarian skills landscape and identifies areas for further development. The second Librarian Futures report asked the question: How can academic libraries be more deeply involved in the undergraduate learning journey? This new report, in partnership with Skilltype, explores the emerging skills required to fulfil a library's mission – in a decade shaped by social, political, and technological change – and meet the needs of today's library patrons. We gathered global perspectives from over 2,000 academic library professionals, from frontline librarians to library directors, to ensure a representative set of insights for the report. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam selects Talis Aspire to use with OCLC's WorldShare Management Services. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has signed on to use the Talis Aspire course resource list management system along with OCLC's WorldShare Management Services, their library services platform, so that faculty can easily create reading lists from the library collection for students to access quickly in compliance with local copyright requirements. OCLC and Talis are partnering to offer Talis Aspire to WMS customers throughout the United States, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. [Full Announcement].

GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO now available through Talis Aspire. E-book offerings available in GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO are now visible in Talis Aspire for all e-suppliers with whom the customer has an active relationship via GOBI. The offerings displayed in Talis from GOBI will include the access model, whether the model is DRM-free, the customer-specific estimated net price and offerings previously purchased through GOBI. Technology from SAGE acquires reading, authoring, and collaboration tool Sciwheel. Technology from SAGE, a division of SAGE Publishing, has acquired Sciwheel, an award-winning tool providing library patrons with an easy way to discover, read, annotate, write, and share research. Founded by Vitek Tracz, the entrepreneur behind the Current Opinion journals, Current Drugs, F1000 and BioMed Central, Sciwheel was created to go beyond traditional reference management by assisting students and researchers throughout the entire writing process. Sciwheel will be integrated with Technology from SAGE's Lean Library, to create a comprehensive academic workflow tool. [Full Announcement].

Langara College Joins Talis Aspire Resource List Management Solution (RLMS) Community to streamline copyright workflows and improve student success. The Talis Aspire community in Canada continues to grow, as Langara College joins the University of Alberta, Capilano University, MacEwan University, and Okanagan College in benefitting from the platform-neutral Resource List Management Solution. Talis Aspire will facilitate library oversight of copyright workflows, reducing risk across the university, while amplifying library visibility and use of licensed resources at the point of student learning. OCLC and Talis to offer leading resource list management system to support library and university e-learning strategies. OCLC and Talis are partnering to offer Talis Aspire, a market-leading course resource list management system, to new and existing customers of OCLC's WorldShare Management Services. As a result of this new partnership, OCLC will be able to offer Talis Aspire to WMS customers throughout the United States, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand. Rich interoperability between the two services will help institutions better manage the acquisition, use, and retention of materials within the context of in-person and online learning environments. MacEwan University has selected Talis Aspire as their Resource List Management Solution, as they seek to widen their teaching and learning initiatives. Resource lists in Talis Aspire will strengthen their faculty and library relationships and streamline library workflows. Okanagan College becomes first Talis Aspire site on FOLIO Library Services Platform. Talis, a SAGE Publishing Company extends its congratulations to the library team at Okanagan College, upon their successful transition from Voyager ILS to the FOLIO Library Services Platform. This transition also places Okanagan College as the first FOLIO site in Canada, and the first institution integrating Talis Aspire with FOLIO globally. Okanagan College is leveraging the FOLIO platform using EBSCO FOLIO from EBSCO Information Services for hosting and service support. [Full Announcement].

Talis Sponsors QAA Project on Active Online Reading. Talis nnounced our sponsorship of the Quality Assurance Agency Collaborative Enhancement Project 2021 Active Online Reading, seeking to explore how we can enhance students' active online reading practice across the sector. This project seeks to investigate current practice around close reading and resource engagement in an online setting. It will produce guidance, briefing, and supporting documentation to develop academic and student practice in this area. This project will be led by Dr. Jamie Wood (University of Lincoln), Dr Anna Rich-Abad (University of Nottingham) and Dr. John Chandler (University College London), with support from a wider steering group of members from across the sector. Delft University of Technology becomes the first university in The Netherlands to adopt Talis Aspire. Delft University of Technology has adopted Talis Aspire in order to better support the student experience and drive efficiencies within the library. They will be making use of online reading list management along with Talis Aspire's Management Information (MI) Dashboards, in order to gain better insight into list coverage and usage analytics. ProQuest integrates ebook data with Talis Aspire, simplifying reading list workflows. ProQuest has collaborated with Talis, a SAGE Publishing Company, to integrate ProQuest Ebook Central platform pricing and holdings data into Talis Aspire, a tool used by libraries to create and manage resource lists to support university curriculum. Using Talis Aspire, faculty can create reading lists for their courses and send these lists to the library for review and purchase. Now, when a requested book is available through the ProQuest Ebook Central platform, Talis Aspire will display prices, available access models and information on what the library already owns, avoiding duplication. The University of Sussex adopts Talis Elevate to build community within their Foundation Year Programme. The University of Sussex has purchased Talis Elevate for the Foundation Year programme in order to grow the online learning community and to deepen student engagement with their academic study. Talis CEO transition. As part of a planned transition, CEO Dave Errington will step down at the end of 2020 to be succeeded by Alison Spencer who has been Chief Operating Officer since July 2019. [Full Announcement].

The University of Southampton has adopted Talis Aspire as they focus on the use of digital resources. They aim to improve students' experience of accessing online resources with reading lists in Talis Aspire. Talis partners with Perlego to offer a unique solution to eTextbook provision. Perlego, a new ebook and etextbook subscription service, has partnered with Talis to enable unlimited access to online resources for students on over 230,000 courses. [Full Announcement].
