Amigos NISO consortium agreement announced. Amigos Library Services and the National Information Standards Organization announced a consortium agreement to provide NISO Library Standards Alliance membership to all Amigos members. The agreement will provide over 500 Amigos member libraries with full LSA membership benefits, including free access to NISO's educational webinar program, unlimited participation in NISO Working Groups/Standing Committees, and discounted registration for all non-webinar events, including the annual NISO Plus conference. Amigos signs multi-year Skilltype Agreement for its Research Libraries. Amigos Library Services is making a first of its kind investment in increasing the capacity of its 500+ library members by implementing a multi-year partnership with talent management platform Skilltype. This partnership will provide access to a pilot group of research libraries to begin deploying a data-driven approach to organizational development. Initial pilot participants include Baylor University, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, The University of Texas at Austin, and Washington University in St. Louis. The Library Corporation Implements First Library•Solution Version 5.x in the Philippines. Earlier this month, Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) upgraded their Library.Solution library management software to version 5.6.3, part of the next-generation 5.x series. Kanopy study shows collection diversity in streaming video is very important to libraries. A primary mission shared by both academic and public libraries is to meet the streaming video needs of students and patrons for diverse and inclusive content such as African American Studies, LGBTQ+ Studies, Women's Studies, Disabilities Studies and more. Preliminary results of a Kanopy survey of more than 960 librarians, publicly available January 2021, show that 94% of academic and 86% of public libraries say Collection Diversity is “very important” to “important.” Yet only 26% and 29% respectively say they are fully meeting their users' needs for such content. Four major public universities in Valencia sign a joint contract with Ex Libris to modernize their library systems and promote rapid growth with Ex Libris Alma and Primo. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that the University of Valencia, the University of Alicante, Jaume I University, and the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, all public universities in Valencia, Spain, have together selected the Ex Libris Alma library services platform and Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. A consortium of public university libraries will be created, enabling the member institutions to have a shared catalog and to collaborate in areas such as acquisitions and staff training. Adam Matthew Digital today announces that the first digital collections from Loyola Marymount University have gone live on the publisher's new platform: Quartex. Adam Matthew Digital and Loyola Marymount University have a long-standing relationship, with many of the award-winning publisher's digital resources available to all staff and students at the University. Today marks the next stage in that partnership, with LMU adopting Quartex for their special collections and migrating their entire suite from OCLC's CONTENTdm platform. OCLC, a leading library technology and research organization, has published The Library 100: Top Novels of All Time, a list of the novels most widely available in libraries today. Virginia Tech University. Effective ePortfolios reach beyond the classroom toward career success. Digital portfolios, also known as ePortfolios, are commonly used for showcasing work to be assessed by a professor for a specific class. According to published research by University Libraries Instructional Design and Training Manager Miguel Nino, academic institutions need to transform their assessment digital portfolio programs into ePortfolios that can be used for their students’ career readiness and employment. Innovative Interfaces announced that nine Innovative libraries in Spain''s Andalucian Library Consortium are adding technologies that increase their power to serve patrons and manage the digital library. The Universities of Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, Pablo de Olavide, and Sevilla will install Millennium Access Plus and Electronic Resource Management to provide patrons with a seamless online library experience while enhancing the management and delivery of e-serial information.
