La Red de Bibliotecas de Canarias pasa su catálogo colectivo a la nube de Baratz. La Red de Bibliotecas de Canarias ha dado un salto cualitativo en su infraestructura tecnológica al trasladar su catálogo colectivo a la nube de Baratz. Este avance le permite disponer una mayor independencia tecnológica, además de ahorrar tiempo y recursos al liberarse de las tareas de mantenimiento y gestión de la infraestructura. Pero este cambio estratégico no solo optimiza sus operaciones, sino que también refuerza la eficiencia, la seguridad y la capacidad de adaptación digital de la red de bibliotecas. El catálogo de la Red de Bibliotecas de Canarias (BICA) ofrece acceso a las colecciones de todas las bibliotecas públicas del archipiélago, así como a algunas bibliotecas especializadas, bibliotecas administrativas y centros de documentación. Su interfaz se mantiene sin cambios significativos, pero la migración a AbsysCloud coloca a la Red de Bibliotecas de Canarias en una posición destacada dentro del sector bibliotecario. Four Prominent Italian Universities implement Ex Libris RapidILL Interlibrary Loan Services to improve document delivery. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company announced that four prominent Italian universities—the Libera Università di Bolzano (Free University of Bozen-Bolzano), Università degli Studi di Bergamo (University of Bergamo), Università degli Studi di Genova (University of Genoa), and Università degli Studi dell'Insubria (University of Insubria)—recently adopted the Ex Libris RapidILL™ interlibrary loan system to provide users with fast document delivery services. The universities were able to benefit from the free initiative that Ex Libris offered the library community at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Libera Università di Lingue e Comunicazione IULM selects Ex Libris Alma and Primo. Ex Libris announced that the Libera Università di Lingue e Comunicazione IULM has chosen the Ex Libris Alma resource management service and the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. Italy's Unione Romana Biblioteche Scientifiche Network selects Millennium for network-wide union catalog. The Unione Romana Biblioteche Scientifiche selected Millennium to provide the union catalog for its network of fourteen libraries. URBS is composed of various academic institutions in Rome that provide patrons with nearly one half-million English and Italian items. Twelve of these libraries will also share the Millennium system as their integrated library technology platform. The Network is migrating from a Geac Advance system maintained by Extensity, Inc.
