The DEAL Consortium and Elsevier announce transformative open access agreement for Germany. The DEAL Consortium, representing the German research institutions, and Elsevier, a global leader in scientific information and data analytics, are delighted to announce a transformative open access agreement for Germany. The landmark five-year agreement, signed on 1 September by Elsevier and the DEAL operating entity, MPDL Services gGmbH, is set to run until the end of 2028 and is designed to make a large part of German research openly accessible worldwide. Technische Universität Berlin becomes first university in Germany to opt for Ex Libris Leganto course reading list tool. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that Technische Universität (TU) Berlin has selected the Leganto course reading list solution to facilitate new methods of teaching and to increase support for distance learning. For a number of years, the university's library has been using the Ex Libris Alma library services platform and Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. Over 150 Strong, the Worldwide Ex Libris Primo Community Continues to Expand. Ex Libris Group announced the ongoing expansion of the international Primo discovery and delivery community. Among the newest members of the rapidly growing Primo customer base, which now totals over 150 sites, are: the Muir S. Fairchild Research Information Center at Maxwell Air Force Base; the University of Utah and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the US; the Austrian Library Network; Sainte-Barbe Interuniversity and Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University in France; the Campus-Bibliothek für Informatik und Angewandte Mathematik (CIAM) and the three Berlin universities in the KOBV consortium in Germany; Unitec New Zealand institute of technology; and the UNILINC network of higher education libraries in Australia. Ex Libris installs ALEPH 500 with trend-setting search engine at four prestigious academic libraries in Berlin. The Cooperative Network of Academic Libraries in the Laender Berlin and Brandenburg (KOBV) have contracted Ex Libris (Germany) GmbH to equip the libraries of the Freie Universität, the Technische Universität, the Humboldt Universität and the University of the Arts with local ALEPH500 systems and to develop a novel type of search engine to serve some 800 libraries in Berlin-Brandenburg and way beyond. Co-ordinator for the KOBV network is the Konrad-Zuse Center for Scientific Computing Berlin (ZIB), a think-tank for mathematics and scientific computing located at Berlin-Dahlem. [Full Announcement].
