Patron Point Rockford Public Library (IL) selects Patron Point. Patron Point announced that Rockford Public Library has selected its patron relationship management system to support the Library's marketing efforts. In particular, the library has identified a priority in streamlining patron registration and card renewal and has plans to use Patron Point in support of Rockford's mission to educate, inform, entertain, and culturally enrich the people of their community. EBSCO Information Services More than fifty libraries and library systems live on EBSCO FOLIO Library Services Platform. More than fifty universities and library systems across the globe have now adopted the full EBSCO FOLIO Library Services Platform or leveraged EBSCO FOLIO Electronic Resource Management via EBSCO FOLIO Services. The sites and systems that have adopted EBSCO FOLIO have leveraged the implementation expertise, hosting and support services available through EBSCO Information Services. While most have implemented the full LSP, libraries and systems have also moved from existing ERM tools or instituted their first-ever ERM leveraging EBSCO FOLIO. [Full Announcement].

EBSCO Information Services EBSCO Information Services announces partnership with Clever. EBSCO Information Services is partnering with Clever, the most widely-used single sign-on portal for schools in the United States. This partnership serves as a solution for schools looking to streamline access to their EBSCO resources for students and teachers. Clever provides school districts with a single portal for their digital learning tools, where students and teachers have seamless access, eliminating the need to remember unique usernames and passwords for each tool. EBSCO Information Services EBSCO Information Services Announces 2022 EBSCO Solar Grant Winners. EBSCO Information Services will be awarding $300,000 in grants to four libraries looking to further their sustainability goals. John D. MacArthur Campus Library at Florida Atlantic University, Florida; Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library, Wisconsin; Lincoln Library, Vermont; and Alan Batey Library and Learning Commons at Camosun College, British Columbia, Canada, will each receive an EBSCO Solar Grant to pay for the installation of a solar array. The grants offset the cost of installing solar panels and allow the libraries to reduce their electricity expenditures. [Full Announcement].

JISC Ground-breaking open research platform, Octopus, to launch. Ground-breaking publishing platform Octopus is being launched next week on 29 June and researchers are invited to attend the online event to find out more. Octopus aims to enable fast, free and fair publishing of research that is open to all and focuses on the intrinsic quality of research. It sets out to avoid researchers being tempted to ‘sell good stories' in their work, and instead rewards them for rigour and specialism. [Full Announcement].

University of Massachusetts Amherst UMass Amherst Libraries migrate to new Library Services Platform. The Libraries will migrate back-end system operations from the current library system (ALEPH) to FOLIO at the end of June 2022. FOLIO is a collaboration of libraries, developers, and vendors building an open source library services platform that supports traditional resource management functionality while also opening the door for innovation in an increasingly digital world. Our Five Colleges libraries will be the first consortium to fully implement FOLIO, and we are excited about the opportunities this forward-looking system will provide. [Full Announcement].

Overdrive OverDrive to present library innovations prioritizing Access for All. At the in-person conference of our nation's libraries, digital library leader OverDrive will announce tools and services to help librarians provide “Access for All.” In response to requests from industry leaders to leverage their digital collections to reach more readers, OverDrive will present Public Access Connect and other initiatives at the 2022 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition Booth #933 in Washington, D.C. from June 23-28. ByWater Solutions ByWater Solutions announces June 2022 Community Giveback Winner. Each month, ByWater Solutions selects one library to be awarded $500. These funds are meant to support libraries and their communities and fill gaps in funding to further library goals. The June 2022 winner of the ByWater Community Giveback is the Morristown Centennial Library in Morrisville, Vermont. The funds will be used for summer library outreach events, including pop-up storytimes at the local farmer's market, Books at the Beach, a nighttime market event, and more! [Full Announcement].

Baker and Taylor The Drucker Institute partners With Baker & Taylor to bring Bendable to libraries across the US. The Drucker Institute at Claremont Graduate University and Baker & Taylor announced today that they were partnering to bring Bendable, the Institute's lifelong learning platform, to public libraries across the United States. A robust learning marketplace, Bendable allows residents of all ages and backgrounds to easily discover content that is just right for them and then acquire new knowledge and skills through online courses as well as local, in-person learning opportunities. It is an especially valuable tool for libraries as they are being increasingly called upon to play an important role in workforce development. [Full Announcement].

Wiley Wiley and Italian Consortium Bibliosan sign open access agreement. Global research and education leader Wiley today announced a new four-year agreement with Bibliosan, a consortium of medical research institutes and hospitals in Italy. This agreement will provide 68 institutions with access to Wiley's complete journal portfolio and enable participating researchers to publish accepted articles open access in all of Wiley's more than 1,600 hybrid and gold open access journals. Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Electronic and digital content management for Vega Discover. Innovative, part of Clarivate, announced today that select early access partners using Vega Discover can now automatically ingest bibliographic records from content vendors into their collection. This Electronic & Digital Content Management integration saves libraries time and gets materials in the hands of patrons sooner by automatically loading vendor records and the appropriate subscription details into Vega Discover. Center for Research Libraries CRL Implements New Library Service Platform and Catalog. CRL is pleased to announce that it is implementing FOLIO as its new library services platform. FOLIO is a community driven, open-source platform that supports traditional library operations and positions us for greater community collaboration around knowledge management. CRL chose FOLIO because it is tightly aligned with CRL's core values of open infrastructure and responsible operations. Joining the FOLIO community creates opportunities for CRL to better serve its members and partners through active engagement in future library initiatives that build a better knowledge infrastructure. EBSCO Information Services GOBI Library Solutions now supports e-books on the Platform. GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO now supports e-books on the platform, making more than 13,000 DRM-free title-by-title social sciences and humanities French e-books available through GOBI. All titles on the platform offer DRM-free, unlimited simultaneous user access and are available worldwide. [Full Announcement].

NISO NISO's Recommended Practice for Video and Audio Metadata now available for public comment. The National Information Standards Organization announced that its draft Video and Audio Metadata Recommended Practice is now available for public comment through August 5, 2022. This new Recommended Practice establishes guidelines for metadata for video and audio assets including administrative metadata, semantic metadata, technical metadata, rights metadata, and accessibility metadata. Library of Congress Librarian of Congress appoints Jennifer Meehan Director of Special Collections. Jennifer Meehan, head of the Eberly Family Special Collections Library at Penn State University, has been named director of the Library of Congress' Special Collections Directorate effective Aug. 1. Private Academic Library Network of Indiana PALNI awarded an ARPA grant to launch an initiative in open bibliographic data management. The Private Academic Library Network of Indiana announced that it has received an American Rescue Plan Act grant of $225,000 from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library. The planning grant will enable PALNI to identify ways of expanding current infrastructure to support open bibliographic data management tools, which library staff use to manage and share collections. The project aims to significantly enhance financial sustainability and access to information, allowing libraries to further deliver on their critical role in student success. [Full Announcement].

Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Vega Discover launches consortia support for Polaris and Sierra. Library consortia using the Polaris or Sierra ILS now have additional features unique to consortia organizations when implementing Vega Discover as their discovery layer. Announced at IUG 2022, the first phase of Vega Discover for Consortia enables consortium members to create separate Vega Discover catalogs with unique URLs and custom branding. In addition, the central office can now set up eContent accounts for the main site and share that eContent with all members. Member libraries can also set up unique OverDrive and Hoopla accounts at the collection site level with subscription details for their patrons. [Full Announcement].

Patron Point Henderson Libraries (NV) chooses Patron Point. Patron Point announced that Henderson Libraries, in Henderson, NV has selected its patron engagement platform to support its mission to imagine possibilities, discover opportunities and connect with its community. [Full Announcement].

Innovative Interfaces, Inc. Kuwait University selects Sierra for their Central and Medical Libraries. Innovative, part of Clarivate, announced that Kuwait University has selected the Sierra library services platform (LSP) for their Central and Medical Libraries. Kuwait University is the state's first public institution of higher education and research, with 5,000 faculty staff and 40,000 students studying at bachelors, masters, and PhD levels.
