American Chemical Society Institutions partner with ACS to advance first California-wide transformative open access agreement. Three California consortia, representing nearly 60 academic and research institutions, and the Publications Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) today announced the first-ever California-wide transformative open access agreement. It is also ACS' first “read and publish” agreement in the U.S. composed of multiple consortia. Through a partnership with the 10-campus University of California (UC) system, the 23-campus California State University (CSU) system, and 25 subscribing institutions represented by the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC), readers and researchers at dozens of California research institutions will be able to benefit from full access to subscription content while receiving support for open access publication in ACS' portfolio of more than 75 premier chemistry journals. Private Academic Library Network of Indiana PALNI awarded additional funding from Lilly Endowment Inc. to support PA. Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI) a $275,000 grant to support PALSave, the consortium's affordable learning initiative. Private Academic Library Network of Indiana PALNI awarded ARPA grant to launch initiative in open bibliographic data management. The Private Academic Library Network of Indiana announced that it has received an American Rescue Plan Act grant of $225,000 from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Indiana State Library. The planning grant will enable PALNI to identify ways of expanding current infrastructure to support open bibliographic data management tools, which library staff use to manage and share collections. The project aims to significantly enhance financial sustainability and access to information, allowing libraries to further deliver on their critical role in student success. [Full Announcement].

Ex Libris Kantonsbibliothek Graubünden first library in Switzerland to adopt Ex Libris Library Mobile App. Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, announced that Switzerland's Kantonsbibliothek Graubünden and its educational network of more than 20 Grison libraries have chosen the Ex Libris Library Mobile app, powered by the campusM solution as its library smartphone solution. Auto-Graphics, Inc. Arkansas State Library selects Auto-Graphics' SHAREit for resource sharing. Arkansas State Library awarded Auto-Graphics, Inc. a two-year contract for a new integrated resource sharing system and secure hybrid union catalog. Through their SHAREit product, which was the first Web-based library resource management solution in the industry, Auto-Graphics will build, host, and maintain a secure hybrid union catalog and library system-neutral resource sharing system for the state of Arkansas. The new system will allow users to search across all participating library systems in the state and request library materials using an unmediated request. [Full Announcement].
