Ex Libris Brandeis University goes live with the Ex Libris Rapido resource sharing platform. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that Brandeis University has gone live with the Ex Libris Rapido resource sharing platform. A member of the Boston Library Consortium and a participant in the Rapido early adopter program, Brandeis decided to move from its old broker-based system to the Rapido platform to take resource sharing to the next level. With the new system, Brandeis can fulfill requests more quickly and lower costs significantly. [Full Announcement].

Ex Libris Smart Harvesting AI is now available for all Ex Libris Esploro customers. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that customers of the Ex Libris Esploro research information management solution can now use the Esploro Smart Harvesting AI capabilities. With this technology, institutions automatically capture the research output of affiliated scholars and enrich the metadata associated with the output. As a result, Esploro customers can easily expand their research information hub, keep it up to date, and improve the discoverability of research publications while significantly reducing the administrative burden on researchers and librarians. Kanopy, a company committed to providing access to high-quality films that inspire, educate and entertain, is working with long time content partner, Criterion to open streaming access to nearly 60 more films from The Criterion Collection to participating academic institutions across the globe. The Criterion Collection is home to some of the most important classic and contemporary films ever made, supplementing courses across film studies, race and gender studies, social sciences and more. Springer Nature Springer Nature strengthens its position in conference proceedings and driving OA publishing with purchase of Atlantis Press. Springer Nature has acquired Atlantis Press, an open access (OA) publisher specialising in conference proceedings and journal publishing, founded in 2006 in Paris. Containing more than 1,200 conference proceedings, the Atlantis Press portfolio is a valuable addition to Springer Nature's book portfolio. It will further strengthen Springer Nature's position as a leader in the conference proceedings market, where it already publishes over 1,800 titles a year, and its leadership position in open access publishing. ProQuest France’s Le Monde Newspaper Archive will be available to academic and public Libraries through ProQuest. Researchers will soon have a new and invaluable resource for exploring the history and culture of France from 1944 to 2000. The historical archive of Le Monde – considered one of the newspapers of record for France and one of the best-known and most influential publications in the world – will be available in full-page digital image format to academic and public libraries through ProQuest in March 2021. Coherent Digital launched Policy Commons, a new resource to help researchers, educators, students, and policymakers benefit from the work of top policy experts, publishers, nonpartisan think tanks, IGOs, and NGOs. Springer. PROJEKT DEAL and SPRINGER NATURE reach understanding on world´s largest transformative Open Access agreement. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed today between MPDL Services, on behalf of Projekt DEAL, and Springer Nature sets the scene for the world’s most comprehensive open access (OA) agreement to be finalised later this year. Reaching such an understanding has been possible through acknowledgement of the common commitment of both parties to the principle of open science: Projekt DEAL’s vision and enablement of open access to German research on a large-scale and Springer Nature’s position as the largest OA publisher and their expertise as a pioneer of transformative deals. The agreement is expected to see well over 13,000 articles a year from German researchers published OA, meaning they will be freely and universally available for the world’s students, scholars and scientists to read, share, use and reuse from the moment of publication.
