Talis Langara College Joins Talis Aspire Resource List Management Solution (RLMS) Community to streamline copyright workflows and improve student success. The Talis Aspire community in Canada continues to grow, as Langara College joins the University of Alberta, Capilano University, MacEwan University, and Okanagan College in benefitting from the platform-neutral Resource List Management Solution. Talis Aspire will facilitate library oversight of copyright workflows, reducing risk across the university, while amplifying library visibility and use of licensed resources at the point of student learning. Infor Library and Information Solutions Infor wins tender from Clermont-Ferrand libraries. The metropolis of Clermont-Ferrand chooses Infor for its re-computerization. The Métropole de Clermont-Ferrand (300,000 inhabitants) has a public reading network of 19 libraries and a book mobile, supplemented by 3 specialized services, the Heritage Library, the Cinema and Short Film Documentation Center and the Superior School of Art of Clermont Métropole. Clarivate Clarivate successfully completes acquisition of ProQuest. Clarivate, a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation, has completed its acquisition of ProQuest – a leading global software, content, data and analytics provider. This succeeds the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, following a commitment to acquire the business from the Cambridge Information Group and other investors, announced on May 17, 2021. Axiell Axiell’s integrated MuseTech Ecosystem chosen by the Historic New Orleans Collection. Axiell announced that The Historic New Orleans Collection has chosen Axiell's collections management platform, Axiell Collections, and collections online product, Arena, to centralize their collections data and boost efficiency across the institution. These platforms will be integrated with THNOC's digital asset management system, Piction.In January 2021, Axiell announced a partnership with Piction and the two companies now collaborate on a shared production roadmap for the benefit of companies like THNOC that seek to connect, streamline and enrich data across platforms in their institution. Ex Libris Industry report sheds light on opportunities for research offices and libraries to support researchers more effectively. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the publication of its annual study on the challenges that academic researchers face, the priorities of research office leaders, and key opportunities for libraries and research offices to advance scholarship at their institution. Commissioned by Ex Libris, the study was conducted by Alterline, an independent research agency. Axel Springer Axel Springer to acquire POLITICO. The publishing group Axel Springer signed an agreement to acquire POLITICO, including the remaining 50 percent share of its current joint venture POLITICO Europe, as well as the tech news website Protocol from Robert Allbritton. POLITICO will complement and strengthen Axel Springer's portfolio with an authoritative voice offering inside perspective and analysis of politics and policy in Washington D.C., across the U.S., and around the globe. Insight Informatics announced the entry of its LIBERO system into the Australian Stock Exchange through the acquisition of the LIBERO business by the newly formed company LIBERO Systems Pty. Talis, a SAGE Publishing Company extends its congratulations to the library team at Okanagan College, upon their successful transition from Voyager ILS to the FOLIO Library Services Platform. This transition also places Okanagan College as the first FOLIO site in Canada, and the first institution integrating Talis Aspire with FOLIO globally. Arts Council England. A Single Digital Presence for libraries. Arts Council England announced a further £3.4 million investment in the Single Digital Presence platform. That is the concept behind the Single Digital Presence (SDP) for libraries, which, together with the British Library, we've been working on for quite some time now. As we enter a new phase in bringing this vision to life, we are announcing a further £3.4 million to be invested in its development. Through this investment, we'll be able to cover the costs of building the technical architecture needed to create the platform, including software development, live testing with a range of library authorities and establishing the technical protocols – all of which will enable as many web presences as possible to plug in to this national portal. ProQuest Clarivate to acquire ProQuest, creating a leading global provider of mission critical information and data-Driven Solutions for Science and Research. Clarivate, a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation, announced a definitive agreement to acquire ProQuest, a leading global software, data and analytics provider to academic, research and national institutions, from Cambridge Information Group, a family-owned investment firm, and other partners including Atairos, for $5.3 billion, including refinancing of ProQuest debt. The consideration for the acquisition is approximately $4.0 billion in cash and $1.3 billion of equity. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, is expected to close during the third quarter of 2021. [Full Announcement].
