3M Cloud Library and Innovative Interfaces now offer integration of eBook lending service with Encore. 3M Library Systems and Innovative Interfaces have completed integration of 3M Cloud Library eBook Lending Service into Innovative’s Encore discovery application. This latest integration success enables library users to have a seamless experience for 3M’s extensive pool of eBooks, along with their library’s local print and digital collections. This new integration is live at Westerville Public Library (OH) and is available now for all types of libraries. The integration allows library users to discover, place holds, and check out eBooks entirely within the familiar Encore interface. The search results display helpful eBook icons, availability status, and number of copies available. Westerville Public Library (OH) live on Sierra Services Platform. Innovative announced that Westerville Public Library in Ohio is live on the Sierra Services Platform. A next-generation services platform, Sierra is built on an open-systems architecture that provides libraries with access to its circulation, technical services, and patron data though an open relational database and a suite of documented application interface extensions. Unlike other systems, Sierra offers out-of-the-box, fully featured library workflows and integrated resource management delivering the functionality and performance that libraries trust to run their operations. Twelve Libraries Launch Encore 3.0. Innovative announced that twelve libraries have "gone live" with Encore Release 3.0: Augsburg College (MN); Binghamton University [SUNY] (NY); Greene County Public Library (OH); London Public Library (Canada); University of Hong Kong; University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Westerville Public Library (OH); Yale Law School (CT); Michigan State University; Eastern Kentucky University; Scottsdale Public Library (AZ); and University of Western Ontario (Canada). Key enhancements include improved discovery features, Community Reviews and Patron Ratings, personalization features, as well as new option for the Encore "look and feel." Encore launches at twelve public and academic libraries, selected by seventy. Innovative announced the launch of its Encore discovery services platform at a dozen public and academic libraries around the world. In addition, the company announced that 70 libraries have selected the next-generation product. The deployment of Encore brings a full-featured discovery tool to users—uniting library collections, licensed-resource content, and the discovery process. To date, Encore has been selected by more libraries combined than any other next-generation library interface to both print and e-resources. Libraries are using Encore as a discovery platform compatible with leading ILS systems including Innovative's Millennium, Ex Libris Voyager, and Ex Libris Aleph, as well as deploying Encore with Innovative's federated search product, Research Pro, and other leading federated search tools. The collaborating institutions are Binghamton University, Deakin University, Deschutes Public Library, Georgetown University, Michigan State University, Nashville Public Library, Scottsdale Public Library System, Springfield-Greene County Library, the Tri-College Library Consortium, University of Glasgow, the University of Queensland Library, Westerville Public Library, and Yale University's Lillian Goldman Law Library. The Encore discovery services platform transforms the user experience of the library with expanded search functionality, community features, and a rich presentation that includes federated-search results and contextual resource suggestions. Five-library cooperative launches Search Ohio. Innovative Interfaces announced that five library organizations have banded together to launch Search Ohio, a library consortium that will make any of over 7 million items available to their communities. Powered by INN-Reach, Innovative''s direct consortial borrowing system, Search Ohio will allow library users to make Web requests for books and media like CDs and DVDs and receive them within two to three days. Depending on their current collection size, each partner in the consortium will gain access to anywhere from 4.3 to 6.2 million additional items faster and at a fraction of the cost of traditional interlibrary-loan services.
