Digital Science Leading patent data platform IFI CLAIMS joins Digital Science. Digital Science, a technology company serving stakeholders across the research ecosystem, announced that it has fully acquired IFI CLAIMS, a leading international platform for patent and innovation data. Digital Science originally invested in IFI CLAIMS in 2017 as part of its aim to diversify the search and analytics landscape by bringing together awarded grants data, publication and citation data with patent data to allow better contextualisation of research - from funding through publication to translation and impact. IFI CLAIMS provides 137 million patents to Dimensions and is the data source behind the patent facet in the Altmetric donut. This next phase of Digital Science's relationship with IFI CLAIMS is a natural step that allows more coherent integration of IFI CLAIMS technology and team into Digital Science's ecosystem. Platinum Equity announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire McGraw Hill, a global leader in educational content and digital platforms, from funds (the "Apollo Funds") managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, Inc. LYRASIS, a global non-profit serving libraries, archives, museums and research communities, announces the acquisition of BiblioLabs, LLC., a Charleston, SC-based library technology firm. The acquisition unites two organizations on the leading edge of library software and support services and transitions BiblioLabs from a mission-aligned for-profit firm into the mission-driven non-profit model of LYRASIS. ProQuest Clarivate to acquire ProQuest, creating a leading global provider of mission critical information and data-Driven Solutions for Science and Research. Clarivate, a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation, announced a definitive agreement to acquire ProQuest, a leading global software, data and analytics provider to academic, research and national institutions, from Cambridge Information Group, a family-owned investment firm, and other partners including Atairos, for $5.3 billion, including refinancing of ProQuest debt. The consideration for the acquisition is approximately $4.0 billion in cash and $1.3 billion of equity. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Houghton Mifflin Harcourt completes divestiture of HMH Books & Media for $349 Million. Learning technology leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt completed its previously announced divestiture of its consumer publishing business, HMH Books & Media, to HarperCollins Publishers, a division of News Corp, a global, diversified media and information services company, for a cash purchase price of $349 million.
