Kanopy Kanopy announces new collection honoring Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Kanopy, a company committed to streaming high-quality films that inspire, educate and entertain, has curated a collection of 12 must-watch films, most of which are only available on Kanopy. The entire Asian Pacific American Heritage collection on Kanopy features 100 films. These films are all directed by Asian Pacific Americans, and Asian Pacific Americans are the stars of the shows. Kanopy Kanopy helps libraries promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) with new film collections. Ensuring students and faculty have access to materials that are inclusive and diverse is a major goal among today's academic libraries. However, budget limitations are preventing many from acquiring such critical content. According to a recent Kanopy survey of more than 800 academic librarians, 77.2% say DEI is crucial to their streaming video selection, yet 65% report that their current offerings do not meet their students' need for diverse cinema. Kanopy Kanopy study shows collection diversity in streaming video is very important to libraries. A primary mission shared by both academic and public libraries is to meet the streaming video needs of students and patrons for diverse and inclusive content such as African American Studies, LGBTQ+ Studies, Women's Studies, Disabilities Studies and more. Preliminary results of a Kanopy survey of more than 960 librarians, publicly available January 2021, show that 94% of academic and 86% of public libraries say Collection Diversity is “very important” to “important.” Yet only 26% and 29% respectively say they are fully meeting their users' needs for such content. A+E Networks and Kanopy, the streaming platform available through partnered public and academic libraries, announced today a digital library content agreement. Further enhancing Kanopy's educational value with select docuseries from A+E Networks' content divisions, including HISTORY and A&E, the deal provides users in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia and New Zealand with access to acclaimed documentaries and historical specials. Kanopy Kanopy appoints digital library pioneer Kevin Sayer as its new CEO. Kanopy, the free-to-the-user video streaming platform for critically-acclaimed films and documentaries, today announced that veteran higher education executive Kevin Sayar has been named as the company’s new CEO, effective October 21. Kanopy Kanopy Makes Two Key Additions To Senior Leadership Team, Opens Engineering Office In Orange County. Kanop announced the addition of two key hires to its senior leadership team. Dave Barney has joined Kanopy as Chief Technology Officer and Chase Rigby is the company's new Chief Product Officer, both reporting to CEO Olivia Humphrey. Both are longtime veterans of Google.
