Ex Libris Japan’s National Institute of Informatics paves the way for Japanese libraries of the future with Ex Libris Alma services. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform has been selected by the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Japan, an interuniversity institute that promotes research in information-related areas. The decision was based on strategies defined in the 2019 Vision on Future Scholarly Information Systems, prepared by Japan's Future Scholarly Information Systems Committee under the auspices of the Council for Promoting Collaboration between University Libraries and the National Institute of Informatics. Ex Libris Ex Libris Rapido platform goes live with first four customers. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that the first four implementations of the Rapido resource sharing platform have now gone live. The development of the Rapido platform began in late 2019, when Ex Libris teamed up with a group of early adopters and development partners in the United States, Europe, and Australia. With this technology, institutions automatically capture the research output of affiliated scholars and enrich the metadata associated with the output. As a result, Esploro customers can easily expand their research information hub, keep it up to date, and improve the discoverability of research publications while significantly reducing the administrative burden on researchers and librarians. Ex Libris University of Aberdeen reaps benefits of Ex Libris Alma library services and Leganto reading lists. In 2020, the University of Aberdeen went live with the Ex Libris Alma library services platform and Ex Libris Leganto course reading list solution. These two cloud-based services are integrated with the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution, which the University has been using for a number of years. Ex Libris Four Prominent Italian Universities implement Ex Libris RapidILL Interlibrary Loan Services to improve document delivery. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company announced that four prominent Italian universities—the Libera Università di Bolzano (Free University of Bozen-Bolzano), Università degli Studi di Bergamo (University of Bergamo), Università degli Studi di Genova (University of Genoa), and Università degli Studi dell'Insubria (University of Insubria)—recently adopted the Ex Libris RapidILL™ interlibrary loan system to provide users with fast document delivery services. The universities were able to benefit from the free initiative that Ex Libris offered the library community at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
