Clarivate to acquire ProQuest, creating a leading global provider of mission critical information and data-Driven Solutions for Science and Research. Clarivate, a global leader in providing trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation, announced a definitive agreement to acquire ProQuest, a leading global software, data and analytics provider to academic, research and national institutions, from Cambridge Information Group, a family-owned investment firm, and other partners including Atairos, for $5.3 billion, including refinancing of ProQuest debt. The consideration for the acquisition is approximately $4.0 billion in cash and $1.3 billion of equity. Maynooth University, also known as The National University of Ireland Maynooth, is one of the first Irish institutions to include its graduate research in the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global database, the largest curated collection of theses and dissertations in the world. ProQuest integrates ebook data with Talis Aspire, simplifying reading list workflows. ProQuest has collaborated with Talis, a SAGE Publishing Company, to integrate ProQuest Ebook Central platform pricing and holdings data into Talis Aspire, a tool used by libraries to create and manage resource lists to support university curriculum. Using Talis Aspire, faculty can create reading lists for their courses and send these lists to the library for review and purchase. Now, when a requested book is available through the ProQuest Ebook Central platform, Talis Aspire will display prices, available access models and information on what the library already owns, avoiding duplication.
