Open Preservation Foundation. Open Preservation Foundation and DLM Forum Sign Memorandum of Understanding. A new memorandum of understanding has been signed by the Open Preservation Foundation (OPF) and the DLM Forum. The agreement facilitates both parties to build a collaborative partnership to address existing and emerging challenges in long-term archiving and digital preservation, and to ensure a sustainable future for tools and knowledge. Open Preservation Foundation. The International Atomic Energy Agency Archives and Records Management Section joins the Open Preservation Foundation. The Open Preservation Foundation is pleased to welcome the International Atomic Energy Agency Archives and Records Management Section as our latest affiliate member. The International Atomic Energy Agency Archives and Records Management Section manages the Agency’s institutional memory and preserves the official records documenting its programme activities and its historical material in a variety of media. Open Preservation Foundation. veraPDF 1.4 released. Open Preservation Foundation and the PDF Association announced that the new release of veraPDF is available. veraPDF 1.4 has a new GUI wizard for creating custom policy files. Significant performance optimisations have been made to the greenfield PDF parser. [Full Announcement].

Open Preservation Foundation. The Open Preservation Foundation welcomes the National Library of Norway as its newest member. The Open Preservation Foundation is pleased to announce that the National Library of Norway has become its latest charter member. The National Library of Norway collects all media types published in Norway, including radio and television broadcasts, films, music, and the Norwegian part of the Internet. Within the coming 20–30 years, they plan to digitize their complete collection. 90% of all books ever published in Norway, 30% of all newspapers and nearly 100% of all recorded radio programs from the largest and oldest radio broadcast station in Norway are already digitised. Artefactual Systems is the lead developer of three open-source software tools, Archivematica for digital preservation, AtoM for archival description and online access, and Binder for digital repository management. Open Preservation Foundation. Open Preservation Foundation to provide sustainable home for JHOVE. The Open Preservation Foundation has started the process of taking over stewardship of JHOVE, the widely-used open source digital preservation tool. JHOVE, JSTOR/Harvard Object Validation Environment, provides functions to perform format-specific identification, validation, and characterisation of digital objects. It was originally developed by Harvard Library and JSTOR in 2003. [Full Announcement].
