Center for Research Libraries. Thomas Padilla Named Director of Information Systems and Technology Strategy at the Center for Research Libraries. The Center for Research Libraries announced that Thomas Padilla, currently Interim Head of Knowledge Production at the University of Nevada Las Vega has been named the new Director of Information Systems and Technology Strategy at the Center for Research Libraries. At CRL, Padilla will lead CRL's overall technology strategy and guide the work of CRL's Metadata and Discovery Enhancement and Information Systems departments. He will work with the CRL community to build, steward, and disseminate research collections in line with CRL's organizational values of diversity, inclusivity, and equity. [Full Announcement].

Open Library Foundation Elizabeth German joins The Open Library Foundation as Senior Program Officer. he Open Library Foundation has named Elizabeth German to the role of Senior Program Officer. German is an associate professor and the service design librarian at Texas A&M University and will work with the Foundation's Board to support Foundation operations and strategic initiatives. Open Library Foundation The Open Library Foundation names new Board President and two new board members. The Open Library Foundation, which enables the development, accessibility and sustainability of open source projects for and by libraries, is making changes to its Board. Tom Cramer, the Associate University Librarian and Director of Digital Library Systems and Services at Stanford University will replace David Carlson as Board President. Library of Congress. Library of Congress appoints new Chief of Research and Reference Services. The Library of Congress has appointed Dennis Clark as chief of Research and Reference Services. Clark brings more than 22 years' experience as an administrator and librarian to the Library, where he will lead public research services, onsite and online user engagement and the development of the majority of the 30 million items in the Library's General Collections. Patron Point Patron Point expands support organization with Conner appointment. Patron Point announced the appointment of Kellie Conner who joins the company's support organization as Implementation Manager. Previous to joining Patron Point, Conner was Product Owner at Innovative Interfaces where she was responsible for product management of the Polaris ILS. Anja Smit, University Librarian at Utrecht University in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Shirley Chiu-wing Wong, University Librarian at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, took their seats on the OCLC Board of Trustees today during the board's regular November meeting. ORCID. ORCID Proudly Announces its New Executive Director. ORCID announced the appointment of Chris Shillum as its new Executive Director. Shillum follows ORCID's founding Executive Director, Dr. Laurel Haak, who left the organization in June to direct her energy and skills to establishing her company, Mighty Red Barn, that supports start-ups in building information-sharing tools and platforms.
