Summon Research Assistant is now live. Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, is excited to announce that Summon Research Assistant is now available for Summon institutions worldwide to activate for their users. Primo Research Assistant was launched in September 2024. Building on its success, we're excited to introduce it in Summon, bringing the same powerful benefits to even more end users and librarians. New release of Ex Libris Summon expands research paths and facilitates learning. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced a new release of the Summon discovery service. This release helps libraries further address researcher and student needs and improve their users’ experience. Patrons will benefit from interface and system enhancements, increased opportunities for discovering content through subject-specific searches, and easy access to course reserves through search results. NC LIVE and ProQuest team up for North Carolina. North Carolina’s innovative consortium NC LIVE is teaming with ProQuest and Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, to expand its offering of ProQuest databases along with the renowned Summon discovery service to each of its more than 200 member libraries. This unprecedented six-year agreement with NC LIVE will both expand the digital content available to North Carolinians and make it easier to discover. [Full Announcement].

May release of Ex Libris Summon enriches discovery experience and improves library productivity. Ex Libris announced that it has launched a new release of the Ex Libris Summon discovery service to help libraries further address researcher and student needs and streamline operations. The release includes integration with the Ex Libris bX Recommender service and ProQuest Syndetics Unbound catalog enrichment service, as well as an enhanced integration with the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform. Australian Institute of Music selects Summon service to optimize access to resources. Ex Librisannounced that the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) library has selected the Ex Libris Summon® Service to increase the accessibility of the Institute’s unique electronic and print resources. Along with the Ex Libris 360 Link and 360 Core solutions, the Summon discovery system will be integrated with the library’s Liberty Library Management catalog and will enable the library to provide a single entry point to its entire collection. Altmetric Data now available in the Summon discovery service. Ex Libris announced that it has integrated altmetrics into the Summon discovery service to significantly enrich the user experience and improve content discovery. This new development, achieved through collaboration between ProQuest and Altmetric, enables researchers to explore the online shares, comments and discussion relating to individual research outputs with a single click. Warren Wilson College students and Librarians prefer Summon. Warren Wilson College selected the Summon service from ProQuest. Designed to boost discovery and information literacy, the addition of the service will ensure access to the content available at their library. ProQuest meets discovery expectations for the library system of the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras. With a wide range of content available, the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras was in search of an easy to use solution that would improve access and discovery of their library collections. After evaluating discovery tools for nearly two years, the library system of UPRRP selected and launched an integrated solution from ProQuest - the Summon service, 360 Link and Syndetic Solutions, to deliver an unprecedented research experience for their library patrons. Saint Peter's University will meet the research needs and expectations of its library users with an integrated suite of ProQuest discovery services – the Summon discovery service, the 360 Link link resolver and Syndetic Solutions. MSU Libraries implement Summon discovery tool. The Michigan State University Libraries have selected the Summon discovery service from ProQuest for implementation at the nation’s pioneer land-grant university. The service launched at the beginning of this month with a number of activities planned to educate students and faculty about this new tool. [Full Announcement].

Full Text of EBL catalog now discoverable in Summon service. ProQuest is boosting the visibility of ebooks in library collections by indexing the full text of the entire catalog of EBL - Ebook Library in its Summon® discovery service. EBL’s expansive catalog of more than 400,000 ebooks is now even more discoverable alongside titles from ebrary, which have been full-text indexed in the Summon service since 2012. The work to broaden discovery and accessibility of ebooks is occurring simultaneously with another major project: the integration of EBL and ebrary into a single ebook solution. [Full Announcement].

Buffalo State, the State University of New York (SUNY) Relies on ProQuest Technologies for Discovery. Buffalo State, the largest campus in the State University of New York (SUNY) system will continue to use the Summon discovery service and 360 Link from Serials Solutions, a ProQuest business, to honor the library’s dedication to proactive and innovative support for research and creativity of Buffalo State students and faculty. Continuing to use the Summon discovery service was a unanimous decision among the library staff, allowing them to connect their users to credible and reliable content from across the breadth of their library’s collections. Summon Service Supports the Creative Endeavors of Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) selected the Summon discovery service from Serials Solutions. The library staff made their decision based upon the discovery services single, unified index, allowing a wide range of their electronic resources to be discovered. The Summon service along with their selection of 360 Link Open URL Link Resolver will support the creative endeavors of the students at RMCAD by enabling them to access all of the libraries resources in a simple search. Serials Solutions to Index HBO Kennisbank in the Summon Service. Serials Solutions, a ProQuest business, is working with HBO Kennisbank to index the results of publicly funded research contained in the institutional repositories of Dutch universities in the Summon service. Metadata from the HBO Knowledge Base will be indexed allowing researchers to discover articles, research reports and theses produced by lecturers, teachers and students within the universities alongside their library's other resources to gather the most relevant information for their projects. IHS Jane's Databases to be indexed in the Summon Service. Serials Solutions, a ProQuest business, is working with IHS Inc. to expand IHS content indexed in the Summon discovery service to include IHS Jane's modules and databases. With the inclusion of metadata and full text from the following IHS Jane's content sets in the Summon index, researchers will now be able to discover information in the defense, security, aerospace and transport sectors alongside their library's other resources. The Swedish National Bibliography to be Indexed in the Summon Service. Serials Solutions is working with the National Library of Sweden to index the Swedish National Bibliography in the Summon discovery service. With the inclusion of the Swedish National Bibliographic Database in the Summon index, researchers will now be able to discover references to books and materials published in Sweden alongside their library's other resources. The Summon Service leads students to better research outcomes at York County Community College. York County Community College has selected the Summon discovery service and 360 Link to help lead their students to better research outcomes. In pursuit of a solution to make its entire collection discoverable via a single search interface, the university is working with Serials Solutions to help connect students to the library’s new resources. Serials Solutions to index Mybrary.ru in the Summon service. Serials Solutions is working with Mybrary.ru to make its electronic library of Russian-language content discoverable in the Summon service. With the inclusion metadata covering subjects of law, economics and business collections from Mybrary.ru in the Summon index, researchers will now be able to discover a large number of periodical and non-periodical publications, articles, theses and other educational and non-fiction literature alongside their library's other resources. Serials Solutions Summon Discovery Service will index Japanese Ebook content from Maruzen. Serials Solutions and Maruzen Company Ltd., are increasing access to Japanese ebooks through the Summon discovery service. Metadata from the Maruzen eBook Library will be indexed in the Summon service and mutual subscribers of each company’s service will be able to discover this authoritative ebook content, encompassing topics ranging from the humanities and social sciences to science, engineering and medicine.
