Civica Libraries across every Irish county to benefit from new digital tech to help boost reading and literacy. Libraries across every county of Ireland are set to benefit from the rollout of a new software system to boost national and local efforts to encourage more reading and improve literacy. The Local Government Management Agency, a state body that provides a range of professional services to local authorities, is working with global software provider Civica to implement the cloud Spydus library management platform in all public libraries across Ireland's 31 local authorities. A complete solution for library management, Spydus will support national programmes to inspire, connect and empower communities and improve reading and literacy. Civica On demand library services: Campbelltown Library chooses Civica's Spydus to deliver an even better reading experience for local community. Campbelltown City Council Libraries, which caters for more than 170,000 residents, will be using the integrated library management tool Spydus, provided by global smart software provider Civica. Through Spydus, Campbelltown's local community will be able to access all library services online, including services such as Campbelltown's comprehensive local history archive. [Full Announcement].

Civica Regional Western Australian Consortium chooses Civica's Spydus10 to deliver improved library services for a digital age. Civica announced that a consortium of nine councils in Western Australia's Great Southern region has chosen Spydus10 for all its libraries. The consortium headed by the City of Albany consists of libraries from the Shires of Broomehill-Tambellup, Cranbrook, Denmark, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Katanning, Kojunup, and Plantagenet. Civica Willoughby City Council to transform library spaces with Civica's Spydus10. Civica announced that Willoughby City Council has chosen Spydus10 for all its libraries across the city. Civica TAFE Queensland improves library's services using Civica's Spydus web-based library management system, offering state-wide centralised, mobile access to resources. Since 2007, TAFE Queensland has been using Spydus, an automated web-centric information management solution from Civica Library Solutions for academic, government, public and corporate libraries. Used by more than 2,000 libraries worldwide, Spydus software manages library data including digital collections, community information and historical archives, in addition to traditional bibliographic data. Civica Scottish consortium signs £1.5m contract with Civica to transform local libraries. Following a procurement exercise carried out by Tayside Procurement Consortium on behalf of the Scottish Consortium of Public Libraries consisting of, Angus, Perth & Kinross, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and North Ayrshire councils as well as High Life Highland, the consortium has awarded a contract worth £1.5 million for a new library management system to Civica, a market leader in software, technology and business process services. The company’s market-leading ‘Spydus’ software will help the consortium members to improve services and reduce costs. ScoPL will be joined by existing Civica Scottish customers Argyll and Bute Council, Inverclyde Council, Leisure and Culture Dundee and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture.
