ProQuest ProQuest SIPX teams with OpenStax and OpenSUNY to boost access to Open Educational Resources. As part of its continuing commitment to support Open Educational Resources, ProQuest is making OER content more discoverable and visible to instructors through SIPX and Summon. OpenSUNY OER textbooks are now indexed and available in Summon, and soon the full catalogue of OpenStax OER content will be as well -- and connected into SIPX’s course materials technology. ProQuest Arizona State University chooses ProQuest SIPX to reduce students’ course materials costs and enhance the educational experience. ProQuest SIPX, provider of the most complete digital course materials solutions in higher education, has signed a three-year deal with Arizona State University, the largest public university in the U.S. with over 90,000 students. ASU will integrate the SIPX Central service—a scalable, self-service configuration that enables anyone at the school to set up course readings—into the campus’ Blackboard learning management system. The technology is unique, sophisticated, yet user-friendly and helps get more library resources and open access content into the hands of instructors. ProQuest ProQuest acquires SIPX. ProQuest (through its affiliate Bowker) has acquired Palo Alto-based SIPX, creator of a unique digital course materials solution that addresses a variety of copyright and costs concerns for universities. SIPX eliminates duplicate spending on course packs (collections of assigned readings) by connecting students to materials already purchased and available to them through their university library.
