Greater Western Library Alliance. GWLA launches BorrowItNow. Greater Western Library Alliance launched BorrowItNow, a consortial borrowing system based on the Relais International D2D product. BorrowItNow allows patrons to discover library materials via a virtual union catalog, which spans across all participating members’ ILS systems. BorrowItNow provides for unmediated requests, transmitting real time availability and call numbers to the lending library, while balancing request loads across the consortium. [Full Announcement].

GWLA selects Relais D2D to enhance resource sharing. The Greater Western Library Alliance (GWLA), a consortium of 33 academic research libraries located in the central and western United States has selected Relais D2D to facilitate resource sharing among the member libraries. Relais D2D (Discovery to Delivery) is a next-generation software platform from Relais International and Index Data. Patrons from GWLA libraries will search across the member library catalogs simultaneously and request circulating items directly from any partner library. [Full Announcement].

Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) selects Relais D2D. The Committee on Institutional Cooperation libraries have agreed to proceed with a pilot of Relais D2D. The pilot will include: University of Chicago; University of Iowa; University of Michigan; Michigan State University; Northwestern University; and Pennsylvania State University. Relais D2D (Discovery to Delivery) is a next-generation software platform for consortial borrowing from Relais International. The CIC libraries will implement Relais D2D over the summer with the goal of being live by the fall semester 2011.The CIC is the nation's premier higher education consortium of top-tier research institutions, including the Big Ten Conference members and the University of Chicago. PALCI has selected Relais D2D to power their E-ZBorrow resource sharing system - a rapid book request and delivery service for faculty, staff and students of 52 academic libraries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and West Virginia. Relais D2D (Discovery to Delivery) is a next-generation software platform from Relais International and Index Data.
