Introducing Page 1+: The new resource search tool from College Libraries Ontario, in partnership with Ontario Colleges Library Service. College Libraries Ontario announced the official launch of Page 1+, the innovative new search tool for industry-relevant resources. ProQuest News discoverable in Ex Libris Primo. To address the teaching, learning and research needs of the academic community, ProQuest is making more of its digital news content discoverable via Ex Libris Primo, the discovery service that delivers access across the breadth of libraries’ print, electronic and digital collections. ProQuest Historical Newspapers, Recent Newspapers and Newsstream collections – covering nearly 3,000 titles from the early 1700s to today – are now discoverable through Primo. Researchers can quickly find the news they need in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian and Observer, The Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, The Times of India and thousands more titles. Primo Studio tool tops set of new enhancements for Ex Libris Primo. Ex Libris announced enhancements to the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution that improve the user experience and empower libraries to better meet their users’ needs through customization of the Primo interface. A new and exciting enhancement is Primo Studio, an online tool for customizing the user interface and for sharing addons and user interface elements contributed by community members. With Primo Studio, libraries can easily extend their institution’s brand, customize the Primo user-interface design—with real-time previews of the changes—and leverage features and apps submitted by other Primo customers. Université Paris-Saclay chooses Ex Libris Primo Discovery and delivery solution to increase content usage and improve the discovery experience. Ex Libris introduces new Citation Trail Capability, offering patrons an enhanced search and exploration experience. Ex Libris announced the new Primo citation trail capability, which is part of the May 2016 release of the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. Leveraging Primo Central’s vast quantity of data, which goes far beyond the data available in individual databases, the citation trail feature offers users new ways to explore material that pertains to their research. The Primo citation trail enables users to start from an article of interest and easily find other materials that cite that article or are cited by it. In this way, researchers and students can discover materials that are relevant to the topic at hand but that may not have come up in a result list. National Library of Medicine selects Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. Ex Libris announced that the U.S. National Library of Medicine has decided to adopt the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. An NLM working group evaluated a number of options and ultimately selected Primo, primarily because of its advanced technology, extensive road map, and active customer communities. The Primo solution will replace Ex Libris WebVoyage Classic, known as LocatorPlus, which enables NLM users to search the Library’s collections. [Full Announcement].

Sistema per la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale selects Ex Libris Primo. Ex Libris announced that the Sistema per la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale (service for the promotion of cultural heritage, or SVPC) in Switzerland has chosen the Primo discovery and delivery solution for a portal that will provide access to all of the Canton of Ticino’s extensive cultural and scientific resources. Shared by 80 libraries, the first stage of the Primo-powered catalog will enable users to discover and access more than a million scientific and cultural heritage items. The portal project, named Sàmara, is supported by the Ticino’s Department of Education, Culture, and Sports (Dipartimento dell’educazione, della cultura e dello sport). [Full Announcement].

Primo Central Index to cover Wanfang Data content in Chinese. Ex Libris announced that the metadata of e journals, dissertations, conference papers, and gazetteers hosted by Wanfang Data will be indexed in the Ex Libris Primo Central Index of scholarly electronic resources. As a result, this extensive content from Wanfang Data will be easily discoverable via the Ex Libris Primo discovery service. [Full Announcement].

Durham University Library and Heritage collections now searchable through Ex Libris Primo. Ex Libris announced that the Durham University Library and Heritage Collections have gone live with the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. [Full Announcement].

University of Genoa selects Ex Libris Primo. Ex Libris announce that the University of Genoa in Italy has selected the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. The university library chose Primo from a number of commercial alternatives to provide users with a single point of access to all library resources, regardless of resource type or location. GBI-Genios' wiso Collections are now indexed and discoverable through the Central Index of Ex Libris Primo. Ex Libris announced that all journals and the majority of reference databases hosted on GBI-Genios' wiso-net platform have been indexed in the Ex Libris Primo Central Index of scholarly electronic resources, making the content easily discoverable via the Ex Libris Primo discovery service. In the coming months, the e-books hosted on wiso-net will also be accessible via Primo. The wiso-net platform includes specialized information in economics; social sciences; technical studies; psychology; and law, and is used in more than 85% of economic and social science universities in German-speaking countries. ProQuest Collections Are Now Indexed and Discoverable through the Central Index of Ex Libris Primo. ProQuest and Ex Libris announced that over 200 of ProQuest’s most widely used databases have been indexed in the Ex Libris Primo Central Index of scholarly electronic resources, making the content easily discoverable via the Ex Libris Primo discovery service. New System Provides Access to 14 Academic Libraries in Montana Through One Search. The collection holdings of 14 academic libraries in Montana are now available through a single online search, thanks to an unprecedented statewide partnership. The new system is made possible by a collaborative effort of the libraries of the four campuses of Montana State University and four campuses of the University of Montana, as well as private colleges, tribal colleges and a community college. The London Library to Provide Discovery and Delivery Services through Ex Libris Primo and SFX. Ex Libris announced that The London Library—a literary library active for over 170 years—has selected the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution and SFX OpenURL link resolver. These solutions will play a central role in enabling the Library to meet its strategic aims of improving support for research and making its collections more visible to members and prospective members.
