Ex Libris introduces new Citation Trail Capability, offering patrons an enhanced search and exploration experience. Ex Libris announced the new Primo citation trail capability, which is part of the May 2016 release of the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. Leveraging Primo Central’s vast quantity of data, which goes far beyond the data available in individual databases, the citation trail feature offers users new ways to explore material that pertains to their research. The Primo citation trail enables users to start from an article of interest and easily find other materials that cite that article or are cited by it. In this way, researchers and students can discover materials that are relevant to the topic at hand but that may not have come up in a result list. National Library of Medicine selects Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. Ex Libris announced that the U.S. National Library of Medicine has decided to adopt the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution. An NLM working group evaluated a number of options and ultimately selected Primo, primarily because of its advanced technology, extensive road map, and active customer communities. The Primo solution will replace Ex Libris WebVoyage Classic, known as LocatorPlus, which enables NLM users to search the Library’s collections. [Full Announcement].

Sistema per la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale selects Ex Libris Primo. Ex Libris announced that the Sistema per la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale (service for the promotion of cultural heritage, or SVPC) in Switzerland has chosen the Primo discovery and delivery solution for a portal that will provide access to all of the Canton of Ticino’s extensive cultural and scientific resources. Shared by 80 libraries, the first stage of the Primo-powered catalog will enable users to discover and access more than a million scientific and cultural heritage items. GBI-Genios' wiso Collections are now indexed and discoverable through the Central Index of Ex Libris Primo. Ex Libris announced that all journals and the majority of reference databases hosted on GBI-Genios' wiso-net platform have been indexed in the Ex Libris Primo Central Index of scholarly electronic resources, making the content easily discoverable via the Ex Libris Primo discovery service. In the coming months, the e-books hosted on wiso-net will also be accessible via Primo. The wiso-net platform includes specialized information in economics; social sciences; technical studies; psychology; and law, and is used in more than 85% of economic and social science universities in German-speaking countries.
