The Library Corporation TLC’s CARL.Connect receives Gold in 2017 Modern Library Awards from LibraryWorks. The Library Corporation is pleased to announce that CARL.Connect has received a gold award in LibraryWorks’ third annual Modern Library Awards (MLA’s) for its Mobile Discovery platform. Setting itself apart with its ability to connect users with library services and engage with the social-local-mobile (SoLoMo) movement, CARL•Connect Discovery Mobile meets the needs of a growing “always on, always in touch” population. Released in 2016, CARL•Connect Discovery Mobile was designed with a sleek, responsive platform that dynamically directs users to a mobile version of the online catalog on any smartphone. It also provides a host of preeminent features that allow for a more local and personalized experience. The Library Corporation TLC celebrates library card sign-up month by offering 2D barcode scanning in CARL.Connect. Leveraging new 2D barcode scanning features builds upon the already streamlined paperless registration process that allows library staff to capture and store a signature while signing up a new patron, making inefficient library card registration and sign-up a thing of the past. The Library Corporation CARL.Connect expands to the Los Angeles Public Library and the Metropolitan Library System. The Library Corporation has announced that the Los Angeles Public Library and the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma City have purchased CARL.Connect, TLC’s newest integrated library systems product. These libraries will join the Monroe County Library System in New York and the Contra Costa County Library in California, who have implemented CARL.Connect for providing a flexible, platform independent solution to their staff functions. The Library Corporation Introducing CARL.Connect – TLC’s latest Web-Based interface for the mobile minded. TLC announced CARL.Connect, TLC’s newest product line, featuring mobile, web-based staff clients developed to empower connection through desk-free interactions with library users, your community and your collections. Last year, TLC embarked on development to reinvent its full suite of CARL products with CARL•Connect to offer web-scale interfaces for circulation, cataloging and reports, as well as planning for other staff interfaces, to further meet the changing needs ofa modern library’s flexible and expansive service models.
