ProQuest Serials Solutions levert Interface voor nieuwe Nationale Catalogus (NBC) van Stichting Bibliotheek.nl. Stichting Bibliotheek.nl (BNL) is een overeenkomst aangegaan met Serials Solutions® (onderdeel van ProQuest) om een vernieuwde versie van AquaBrowser® in te zetten als een additionele gebruikersinterface op de nieuwe Nationale Catalogus voor Openbare Bibliotheken (NBC). De NBC ontsluit de titelgegevens en bezitsgegevens van alle materialen (boeken, tijdschriften, e-books, games, cd's, dvd's, etc.) in de collecties van de aangesloten bibliotheken. Een Open Zoekplatform combineert de bibliografische gegevens van de NBC met andere digitale informatie die voor de gebruiker interessant kan zijn, zoals recensies, een documentaire over de auteur, de soundtrack van de verfilming van een boek of het archiefmateriaal dat verband houdt met een bepaalde publicatie. De keuze van Stichting Bibliotheek.nl voor de additione AquaBrowser userinterface komt voort uit het succes met het vergelijkbare Open VLACC-project waarin Serials Solutions samenwerkt met Bibnet, een projectorganisatie voor de Vlaamse overheid. Stichting Bibliotheek.nl. Lancering NBCplus ondersteund door AquaBrowser. Stichting Bibliotheek.nl en Serials Solutions gaan vanaf 1 oktober samenwerken bij de lancering van de Nationale Bibliotheekcatalogus (NBC+). Door deze samenwerking ontstaat er een geleidelijke overgang voor alle deelnemende bibliotheken die willen overstappen van de huidige AquaBrowser naar de nieuwe NBC-omgeving. Serials Solutions zorgt samen met BNL voor een lokaal op maat gefaseerde overgang in 2013 waarbij alle huidige en nieuw toegevoegde bronnen steeds volledig beschikbaar blijven. Gedurende deze transitie zal Serials Solutions tevens een nieuwe AquaBrowser beschikbaar gaan stellen, de ABL+, waarbij bronnen uit de NBC+ via deze nieuwe zoek-interface ontsloten kunnen worden. ProQuest Aargauer Kantonsbibliothek is the first Swiss Library to choose Serials Solutions AquaBrowser discovery layer for Its online public access catalog. Serials Solutions announced that Aargauer Kantonsbibliothek, in the Swiss Canton of Aargau, has chosen to adopt AquaBrowser discovery layer to help library patrons quickly and easily find relevant results. A public library, Aargauer Kantonsbibliothek, is the first Swiss client to use a discovery service developed by Serials Solutions. [Full Announcement].

ProQuest Serials Solutions Launches AquaBrowser SaaS Version. Serials Solutions has updated, enhanced and released a new SaaS (Software as a Service) of AquaBrowser – the world’s bestselling discovery layer for libraries. The new AquaBrowser continues to provide a fresh, modern interface for library collections, enabling library customers to use and find library resources independently. However, as a hosted service, it is now accessible to more libraries, with set-up, implementation and consistent updates that have little impact on library resources. [Full Announcement].

ProQuest FHSU's Forsyth Library unveils AquaBrowser, a quick and easy system for locating materials. Now Forsyth Library at Fort Hays State University has moved to the next generation of online searches. During a news conference and reception this morning in the FHSU library, Director John Ross announced the transition to a new visual faceted interface for Forsyth Library's online catalog. The integration of the AquaBrowser Library with Forsyth Library's existing Voyager library system involved nearly 18 months of work by library staff and the Medialab Solutions implementation team. Forsyth Library also hosted training provided through Oklahoma State University. [Full Announcement].

Infor, the exclusive distributor of AquaBrowser Library in Great Britain and Republic of Ireland, today announced that the National Library of Wales has purchased the AquaBrowser search and discovery platform by Medialab Solutions BV. The National Library of Wales will implement AquaBrowser to provide users with improved access to millions of manuscripts, archives, audio-visual and printed items on every subject about Wales and the world. Medialab Solutions. AquaBrowser Library chosen by Harvard University. AquaBrowser Library has been chosen by the Harvard University Library, the largest academic library worldwide, as its search and discovery platform. The AquaBrowser implementation will include faceted navigation, word cloud discovery, relevancy ranking, an integrated Authority File, real-time availability information for items, and integration with the ILS for patron services such as placing holds, making requests, viewing checkouts, and renewing items.
