Ex Libris Ex Libris refreshes its two-year Alma roadmap. Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, has updated its extensive two-year product development plan for the unified Alma library management system for the rest of 2024 and throughout 2025. The community-driven roadmap is refreshed on a semi-annual basis to ensure that libraries are taking advantage of state-of-the-art technology, such as advancements in Linked Open Data and artificial intelligence, to best manage their resources today and address future needs. Ex Libris Wayne State University adopts Alma to modernize e-resource management. Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, announced that Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, has launched and is now using Alma to manage its broad range of electronic resources. The collaborative implementation and upgrade enables Wayne State library staff to take advantage of Alma's advanced electronic resource management (ERM) capabilities and to enhance user satisfaction. Biblioteca Nacional de España La BNE cambia su sistema de gestión bibliotecaria. The National Library of Spain will be migrating to Ex Libris Alma from SirsiDynix Symphony. En las próximas semanas la BNE sustituirá su actual sistema de gestión bibliotecaria, que es la herramienta que sustenta el catálogo en línea, así como la mayor parte de los procesos bibliotecarios: préstamo, catalogación, adquisiciones, gestión de publicaciones seriadas, etc. La Biblioteca ya ha afrontado con anterioridad diferentes procesos de migración de sistemas bibliotecarios, desde Sabini y Ariadna, a finales de los años 80 del siglo pasado, hasta llegar a Unicorn en 2007 y posteriormente Symphony en 2017, sistema al que ahora sustituye Alma. Ex Libris University of the Free State selects Alma and Primo. Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, announced that the University of the Free State in South Africa has selected the Ex Libris cloud-based unified library management and discovery services platform. Implementation of Alma and Primo will support the library's vision to be a world class digital and virtual information hub for its users. [Full Announcement].

University of North Carolina System UNC Library Advisory Council announces selection of Alma. The UNC Library Advisory Council announced that a contract has been fully signed with the Ex Libris Group to implement Alma, an integrated library system, between twelve UNC campuses. This contract includes: Appalachian State, UNC Asheville, UNC Charlotte, Fayetteville State, NC Central, NC State, NC A&T, UNC Pembroke, UNC School of the Arts, Western Carolina, UNC Wilmington, and Winston-Salem State. The combination of new features and functionality, additional customers choosing and implementing the service, and a vision to further leverage forward-looking technology is taking Alma to a new level in the area of library unified resource management. Over 400 enhancements were delivered, with many coming from ideas originating within the user community and significant Involvement from customers across the development process. Alma continues to grow, with more than 180 libraries choosing Alma in 2023 and over 130 implementing the service. This brings the total number of libraries selecting Alma to over 2500. This is a bumper release in what has been a bumper year of new of developments in 2023, now totaling close to 150 new features and approximately 60 new enhancements. 25 items, directly stemming from ideas contributed by our user community on the Idea Exchange platform have been developed and completed this year. Ex Libris Japan's National Institute of Informatics paves the way for Japanese libraries of the future with Ex Libris Alma services. Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, announced that the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform has been selected by the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Japan, an interuniversity institute that promotes research in information-related areas. The decision was based on strategies defined in the 2019 Vision on Future Scholarly Information Systems, prepared by Japan's Future Scholarly Information Systems Committee under the auspices of the Council for Promoting Collaboration between University Libraries and the National Institute of Informatics.
